I was thinking how you would refine the inside of the ring. Sanding the inside of the ring using the sand paper taped around the neck of the vase is ingenious!

I watch other wood workers on KZbin that talk during their videos, which I like...sometimes. so I like that your videos is you woodworking without talking because I turn the volume down all the way to watch your videos because watching u wood work is really relaxing and soothing to me and helps me drift off to sleep. I have a really hard time falling asleep but your videos are so relaxing and you look so zen and calm and happy when you work. your pieces are always amazing and you're so talented

Small magnets inserted within the ring, and ring magnets within the neck of the vase, would levitate the ring, either in a stable, or a more flexible fashion, depending on strength and placement.

So, someone picked up some wood log in a forest; it was of course cylindrical. Someone else put a lot of efforts to give it a square section. ... And that's what Olivier used as a starting point to generate a cylindrical shape. Logical.

Many trees in the forest aren't truly cylindrical or easy to transport or handle in their natural forms. Milled wood is much more convenient and consistent, not to mention, easier to store.
