I had bacterial pyogenic meningitis back in 2016 when I was 9 years old. I had 2 brain surgeries, but it's been 8 years, and I am totally fine now. It's a very dangerous disease. Please consult a doctor if you experience stiffness in your neck.

I did seek medical care. They told me I had Torticollis due to the stiff neck and sent me away. Nevermind that I couldn’t remember my birthday and had developed a stutter, couldn’t look at lights, and felt like lava had been poured down my spine. It took me 8 weeks to “recover.” I say that in quotations because I developed myoclonic seizures, polyneuropathy, and what seems like brain damage considering I still lose my memory from time to time as a result of it being untreated

Very good reporting! I wanted to know the difference between viral and bacterial and at what age it is really necessary to get a vaccine for it.
