I've lied before and I don't want to lie again so I'll be honest my friend: I would be lying if I said I'll never confuse the two ever again. Only once I've laid my head on my pillow tonight I'll be able to go through the conjugations alright. Actually, I'm so exhausted from coming up with these examples that I'm afraid I'll have to lie down for a bit right now. Someone else will have to lay the table for me. Oh! I can hear them laying it right now. I'd better run. I was very clear: "if you don't help lay the table, you help with the dishes". If only I hadn't laid that rule! (Loved the video and the challenge! Thank you! I'll be following)

When I was growing up, our school district was experimenting with *new math* and *new English*. Ergo, we were never taught sentence diagramming and other BASICS! It frustrates me to this day! I'm still going to say "I'm going to lay down" and tell my dog to "lay down" and "I'm laying down". I know it's wrong, but oh well. I don't like how the correct way sounds lol. Most people I know don't say "I'm going to lay down". Great explanatory video though! The whole "he lay down on his towel" / "the cat lay down on my keyboard" is extremely odd to me I would have thought it was 'laid' in these scenarios if not for this video, and that's the only way I've ever heard it.

Good use of the verbs. * bed all morning ... or ... in the morning. * He lied that he WAS not a thief (This would be better)

I'm doing research on the English "Lie With" as found in the book of Leviticus. It appears that "Lie With" in the Hebrew (shakab) means 'forced down', coercion, rape. I have found a few other verses that uses this word (shakab) and (mishkab). Thanks!

Note that one can use laying or lying in the gerund form of the word. --- Brick LAYING relaxes me. Note that in the just-mentioned sentence, laying is a verb acting as a noun.
