In this English lesson we look at the difference between MEET and GET TOGETHER in English.
We look at the different meanings and uses (with example sentences) of:
- Meet (three main uses)
- Meet with
- Meet up with
- To get together
We also look at the noun form of get-together (yes, that hyphen joining the two parts is important).
We will also look at a common mistake made by students learning English.
If you are asked a question like: "What do you normally do on Sundays?"
We show you why you should NOT say "I meet my family."
and why you SHOULD say "I get together with my family."
There are also a couple of questions at the end that the viewer can answer.

I always get together with my friends two days a week. I met my best friend at our primary school at the first time, especially at primary three.

Namaste! Nice to meet you... I'm Shivam. I am going to meet my friend at Supermarket in the evening. I will meet with my Principle to complain about the class teacher as soon as possible. Himanshu and I usually meet up at the rest house in the morning. It's a long while sice we talked with each other. Let's get together for coffee. Do you remember when we had a get-together last time? THANK YOU FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL LESSON!
