Goff set record for completing at least 5 passes to 6 different players in a single game ❤ Go Lions
@jamesmlowe11 күн бұрын
Yesterday's Lions win-#12- ties the most wins in a season for the Lions, since the team started in 1934. I think this is the 5th time a Lions team has done this. If the Lions win their next game to make their win total 13, this will be a Lions record going back to when the team started in 1934. Also, Goff completed at least 5 passes to 6 different players last night. This is an all time NFL record going back to 1924, 100 years ago, when the NFL started. The NFL confiscated Goff's jersey, when the game ended, to put in the NFL hall of fame. This is the second Goff jersey put in the NFL hall of fame THIS YEAR. The other one was for 18 passes completed in ONE GAME all time record earlier this season. How about that for bragging rights?

Whatever you think of pro sports in general, The Lions with 11 straight wins is just mind-boggling to me. This was the worst organization in pro sports from 1958- 2020...It's seriously hard for me to get used to this. The Lions being the class of the NFL....Really great for the Lions fans.
@johnboehmer668310 күн бұрын
Hard not to include the '21 season in there too, at 3-13-1. Then amazingly, even in '22 starting 1-6 - this turnaround really only began 2 years ago. But WHAT a turnaround! You make a great point, in the entire history of the nfl, I bet you can't find more than 30 or so streaks of 11 consecutive wins. Unbelievably difficult to do.
@dannyfittro743810 күн бұрын
Lions were a playoff team or contender many times in the 80's and more times in the 90's, including playing in the NFC Championship game. Also made the playoffs multiple times after 2000 before 2020.
@johnboehmer668310 күн бұрын
@@dannyfittro7438 If by "contender", you mean Superbowl contender, I would have to disagree with you. The 91 season was an aberration, enabled only by a very unusual event, Mike Utley's paralysis that inspired the whole team to play above and beyond Wayne Fontes inept means to do so. Even in the championship game, no one really gave them a chance, and they confirmed they were way overmatched. I think they went 5-11 the very next season. Only once did they string together back-to-back playoff seasons since the 50s, both one&dones.

@arthurfonzarelli982810 күн бұрын
On defense that's the major point though. The offense is been as healthy as any team in the NFL this year. I think Decker has missed one or two games in the guard has missed one game and laporta mystigate. Not a single other offensive player has missed a game this year which is pretty shocking and has to be the least injured offensive team in the league
@paulmayer865411 күн бұрын
The Pack have a good team, but Maz is smoking something wild thinking GB is a top 3 team. They’re MAYBE 3rd in the NFC, but they’ve already lost to the other team who can make that argument. Chiefs are better. Bills are better. Pittsburg is better. Baltimore is probably better. GB has not shown any ability to beat great teams. Their best wins are Arizona and Houston at home. That’s 1-4 against teams over .500 and 2 more wins against .500 teams, but they also got the Rams when they were the most banged up they were all season.
@johnboehmer668310 күн бұрын
That all having been said, they were the second hottest team coming into the game, winning 7 in a row. And they do have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. I would call them 5th best, but if you line up those four teams you named to play them at Green bay, I'm sure Green Bay wins 2 of 4. Of the four you named, only Buffalo looks convincing, and consistent.
@Yesquire010 күн бұрын
Think about this for a second. An NFL roster is 53 players. That includes a punter and a kicker, so that leaves 51 players, because the leg guys are too important to risk injuries by playing them in any postion during a game. Out of those 51, half are offense, half are defense. Let's put the odd guy on the offense for now, so that leaves 25 guys to play defense. Some guys are better than others. They start for you. Out of 25 guys, 19 defenders were either on IR of hurt bad in the Packers game and could not finish it. Sure, you can replace guys who are long-term injured, but for the most part, you replace them with cast-offs from other teams. Not that allowing 31 points was a great defensive performance by an NFL team, but it was pretty great when 19 out of your top 25 guys could not play. It is entirely possible the Lion can keep winning simply by outscoring their opponents, but I hate seeing my team reduced to being so one-dimensional. It's hard to manage the clock so that you always are the last offense with the ball as the game clock winds down. I sincerely hope that the mini-bye will let a big chunk of those 19 guys get healthy for the Bills game.
