Hey Daniel.......GREAT video.with an AWESOME spin.....interchangeable sign. I made 4 last spring, and still have 3. I had a price on it at $75. They just don't sell around here. 🙂 I watched it again, Daniel. You did a great job! 🙂 One of my ideas was to replace the two sign boards with a lighted box. Paint the inside of the box white or a soft yellow, line the inside with LEDs, and have replaceable panels (1/8" or 1/4" material) that have your text or log or whatever cut out. In the daytime, the white would show through; at night the light would be on. Either way, you see the text. Oh... on mine, I have 3 hooks in the bottom section. The middle hook is for plants; the hooks on the left/right are for hanging a sign or chalkboard or banner or flag. Hmm... I wonder if the feet need to be longer for more stability?

Finally pulled the trigger on a CNC machine. Not a big fancy one, but a good start I think. I'd been going back and forth between a CNC vs a laser and the CNC won out. The Yora model I bought can take a laser module as well, so if I decide I want to do laser I can. Super excited to get going.

Another great project, I'll definitely make a few of those. BTW, I also use a carpenters pencil for most of my layouts, even the very fine cuts when using hardwoods. 30 years of carpentry is to blame for that, lol.

I enjoy your channel and liked this build. The personalization portion is great if you can afford the x tool engraver ( which I cannot ). I guess buying stencils and painting the personalized signs is the option I'd have to go with. Keep up the good work and fun videos.

Great Project D🤘🏼 Seen quite a few different versions and always thought sign should be interchangeable for the holidays. Thought about doing changeable wood decals, like pumpkin for Halloween, turkey for Thanksgiving, tree for Christmas and whatnot. Placed beside the welcome sign. I don't know where people live that they can get $200 for one of these. I've sold several and they look pretty damn nice. A lot nicer than the $200 you showed for a reference. I'm doing good to get $65 for mine and my lettering is laser CUT from cedar. All stained with painted top and lettering with exterior paint and the stain is then sealed with Poly. The top and bottom have a 45° champher all the way around. All in im at just about $25 in materials. I sold 4 last year and 5 this year.

@@BethRavengeGreen yeah mate, not only is the price high, we don’t access to the same sizes that I commonly see used in KZbin videos. For instance I quit often see 1x8’ used in videos. Well the closest I can get at bunnings is 19mm by 140mm, approximately equivalent to a 3/4 x 5 5/8. I’d have to glue two together and then rip down to get 8 inches I’m not even going to go into the variety of species easily available in the states, that’s also something that we lack

Just a tip that I wish you had the foresight to share. Not only could you make the welcome sign portion with a CNC or a Laser, but could also use a Cricut Vinyl Cutter in 2 different ways. Either cut out vinyl that says “Welcome” and use that for the welcome sign OR use the remaining vinyl “cutoff” as a stencil and spray paint the welcome message.
