I couldnt agree more. Its the America I'd have loved to experience. Despite it being so romantic.

This film is a masterpiece! There really isn't a storyline, just lots of little sub plots that all fit together perfectly. For reasons I can't explain, when the movie is over, I feel wonderful!

This film means so much to me because it portrays my parents' era. If I were to make a movie about their teenage years during the Depression, it would be a lot like this.

My dad who typically doesn’t like Woody Allen movies this one he did. Most of his movies are relationship oriented but this is flat out nostalgic comedy. Bullets Over Broadway another favorite is like that too.

This is one of my favorite movies for a lot of reasons, the biggest being that even though it was decades later, this family could have been my Jewish family, complete with the lilt that was Yiddish even when the words were English.

This was based on the tragedy of Kathy Fiscus, who fell down a well in San Marino, CA in 1949. They didn't have the equipment to get her out in time to save her life. Stan Chambers reported live on TV on the rescue attempt, for about 9 hours straight, according to my dad. This well was located on what is now the San Marino High School athletic field.

I found out where the opening shot is - Beach 115th St in Rockaway Park, Queens! Their house was 180 Beach 115th St in particular. The house is still there, but the half of the street closer to the water is completely different, it's all been torn down and rebuilt to something different.

So much to like about this film, but one aspect that always turned me off: Allen’s narration. He sounds like he’s barking rather than talking.
