The first two Toy Story movies were my all time favorite as a kid and even as an adult, they still hold a special place in my heart.

Some people theorize that Mr. Potato Head used to be Andy’s favorite toy back when the boy was very small, and then Woody replaced him. Since then, he’s hated Woody since. I’ve heard that Sid was based on somebody real, who had the strange hobby of taking apart toys and reconstructing them into stranger things. Perhaps a former employee of Pixar?

@@artsysabs Lol, unfortunately I used to be one of those kids. 😂 I didn’t buy explosives or mutilate all my toys, I wasn’t extreme like Sid; but due to the influence of my older brother at the time (because I was also that “me too!” little sister that liked to do everything my older brother did, whether he liked it or not), I cut my barbies’ hair and drew all over the toys my brother and I made fun of. Stuffed toys and “cool” toys were off limits, of course. We only took apart the toys we had that represented something we considered “dumb” (usually things having to do with super girly stuff or baby tv shows like Barney the dinosaur.) Ya know, now that I think about it…. We were really “tame” and “mild” as “Toy destroyers”. Deliberately destroying a toy was really uncommon for us, almost rare. 🤔 But it did happen, and some of the time it was even toys that some of us didn’t want destroyed; all of us can relate to Sid’s little sister Hannah at some point. If there was one particular possession I feel bad about being destroyed (I don’t remember if it was me or someone else, or if I helped), it was my little sister’s “blanky”. She took her favorite little blanket almost everywhere. We got annoyed and eventually destroyed it after a couple years of tolerating it… poor sis.

Fun Fact: Toy Story Originally Didn’t Have the Pixar Logo at the beginning of the Film it was actually the Blue Walt Disney Pictures Logo recreated in CGI and used from 1995-2007. The music was the Andy’s Birthday fanfare rather than the When you wish upon a star. The Pixar Logo was only shown at the end of the film right after the credits before The Closing WDP Logo That how it was from 1995 Theatrical Release 1996-2000 VHSs 1996 Laserdisc 2000-2005 DVDs

Why is it the Minions from Despicable Me are so popular/iconic yet the LGM Aliens from Toy Story aren't as popular/iconic? I've never been a fan of the Minions at all, but even the first time I saw Despicable Me I enjoyed everything in the film except the Minions. Part of the reason why they were annoying was the fact that they only spoke in gibberish and the occasional word, but I realized after a while that they are blatant ripoffs of the LGMs from Toy Story. Think about it: The LGMs are 3 eyed green aliens with oval heads in blue jumpsuits that often speak in unisen and only say a few things. The Minions are 1 eyed yellow round creatures in blue overalls that often speak in unisen and say even fewer things. But the most annoying thing about the Minions to me is that (much like a lot of side comic relief characters in animated kids films) they are far too overused and take away from the seriousness of scenes while the LGMs are sparingly used to make a quick joke and lighten the mood (or at 1 point save the day) then move on. Finally, while there are some who argue that the Minions are far more useful as sidekicks/helpers to the main cast than the LGMs, the Minions (as shown from their spin off film) cause a lot of problems for the people they work for, meanwhile the LGM Aliens (as we saw from the Buzz Lightyear animated tv show) are actually scientists and engineers that are key to Star Command rather then a hindrance to Buzz and the other Space Rangers. Sorry I went on a rant in this comment, but I really can't stand the Minions, so it bothers me how "iconic" they became in popular culture when they are so annoying as side characters especially when compared to the LGM Aliens.
