actually, I offered to return it. I regularly get new synths in, and some have to go to make room. I don't have time to play them all. and it doesn't feel right to sell gear that's been donated. i'm making videos anyway, so it's great to feature new synths without me having to buy them. it's basically free rental and everyone wins, me, the brands and the audience. perhaps when korg release something new, then I'll trade up!

This is a nice surprise by Korg. I realy like the fresh new design and it also seems to have the build quality that Korg is known for. @@madness8556 I actually got the M1, T3, and T2 in not too bad of a condition. Woody you're one of the most entertaining reviewer I've ever seen: while you play a keyboard your face is better than any other star-based evaluation system :-D .. this Nautilus deserve more in dept research... at first sight it remember me a lot of my Krome (yes Krome has less synth engines) but these specific Korg choices (less Knobs, less display, less button, ....) feel like a deja-vù!. I own also a Yamaha Modx7 that make me feel like a baby in a toycenter every time a dig into the enormous options offered by that Yamaha synth-beast... A comparison in my opinion is not needed... too much distance between this 2 machines.. and I'm very pleased that Korg did not choose to develope an anti-Modx clone or similar... Korg and Yamaha are always on my hearth (and on my setup), each for their specific distinctive strength points. Keep going well with these reviews Woody. Many thanks! :)

Sadly I don't think that Korg has significantly improved the quality of its lacklustre acoustic and electric guitar programs which aren't really much improved from those in my 1995 Trinity! Their PA series arrangers have phenomenal guitar programs so Korg obviously have the ability to improve these sounds but choose not to for some strange reason! How long does it take to come on?
@Roboprogs4 жыл бұрын
No kidding. There was a Krome in the local store a while back. By the time it booted up, I lost interest in playing with it 😁

switch it on, go read some yt comments, then it's ready.

Not sure if you've sent this back by now, but do you know/remember how long the boot time is? The Kronos was super-slow (using a '90s PC motherboard) and I'm hoping that Korg's newer tech makes the Nautilus faster. Anyone know?
@WoodyPianoShack2 жыл бұрын
let's just call it super-slow, on par with the kronos. not a big deal for me, I just start it, then go do something else for a few minutes.

@@WoodyPianoShack Thanks Woody. I'll see if my local PMT has one in stock and check it in person. The Kronos' slow loading bugged me after a while. Really is like an old PC. Was hoping that they might have recompiled for a faster platform. Keep up the great work. :)

For me it takes 2:30 minutes to turn on including my Samples all together at once

Yamaha's keyboard load in a matter of 16 seconds because they use flash memory korg should definitely learn a thing or two from Yamaha

Olá, i'm from to Brazil ! Are the keys the same as on Krome 61?

Nice! I have the 88 key Korg Kross (1) laying against the wall here, hardly used because of the insane menu diving. But this looks cool. Loved the Jeff Lorber tune btw.

yes, not sure if my kross 61 will be getting much attention in coming months... :(

I prefer light touch keyboards, which is better? 61 or 73 keys?
@patrickdrx4 жыл бұрын
If you often play pianos, it’s more confortable to get a 73 keys. When playing organ or synths, no matter except if you play slow deep lefthand basselines..

I'd like to be able to justify getting a new keyboard but even after 30 years, my Yamaha SY55 along with the MIDI out and Logic Pro X, does everything I need it to. Even so, great review on a very nice keyboard.

that's a golden oldie! the improved connectivity of modern keyboards is nice, if you're connecting to PC. audio and midi over usb is convenient.
