The Coiltek ‘Elite’ line of coils have ‘dark’ camo colours that are not the best for direct sunlight. ~Also I was told by Minelab that the audio recall upgrade on the 6000 is not necessary if a person uses headphones, because the audio fault is not noticed through headphones and only noticed through the external speaker.

In my opinion it is not a good idea to use a class D amplifier near sensitive electronic equipment unless it is placed in a shielded enclosure.

@@DetectorMods ~I appreciate the reply but honestly I do ‘not’ know what you mean by that.?

@@royjohnson465 class D audio amplifiers generate electro magnetic interference from the the inductors that are used in the design, Class AB amplifiers do not radiate interfence, Class AB is standard in most audio amplification. Class AB do not require inductors that can generate interference as in the Class D amplifiers.

@@DetectorMods ~I ‘do’ appreciate you making the extra effort and taking the time to explain it to me. I think I see now what you’re saying, some older 6000’s had a Class D audio amplifier that caused the audio interference problem in the external speaker (but ‘no’ interference problem through the headphones). ~I am in Canada and I have an older 6000 that has ‘not’ yet had the audio upgrade done to my machine. The Minelab repair service centre is near Chicago, US. The problem is I do ‘not’ want to send my 6000 over the Canadian~US border twice (there and back) for ‘warranty’ work, and also the chance of my 6000 getting lost in the post-mail. So I have decided to live with the problem, if I use headphones then I will ‘not’ notice the problem.

I do notice the difference , but - I do not understand why you test around all that interference [ who is looking for gold where there is that much interference ] ? What is a cost on mods - do you have a web site where we could shop for your work ? Thanks
@royjohnson4655 ай бұрын
Inside of a Caravan he probably should have a mobile portable electronic repair workshop set up on wheels out in the bush were there’s almost no interference.

It is showing that the modifications can improve the signal to noise ratio. Field testing is much better.

Can you mod a 5000 to have the same kHz as the 6000
@DetectorModsАй бұрын
I can set the 5000 between 20 KHz to 35 KHz

Is that the same as the 6000

I hope you can name the pieces covered in epoxy

Minelab went to great trouble hiding the part numbers, but now their designs do not need that, so what parts do want to know?
@hhhh35515 ай бұрын
The parts responsible for sound, and the parts responsible for receiving the signal bouncing back from the coil@@DetectorMods
