Have you ever been laid off? How was it? Do you agree that corporations rely way too much on layoffs?

The US has one of the worst labor laws in the world, and I'm stating this from a country in Africa. It's very bad for a country with such a high GDP and not a wonder that so many people are struggling in a country of abundance. I feel the whole of the US is gaslit into thinking it's ok.

Too true. Compared to Denmark US workers are in an incredibly precarious situation.

I think in Europe the legal system is the main point of friction. Companies over there are keen to doing layoffs if left on there own. So in the USA, the legal system has to change

Yes - we need good legal protections against frivolous or damaging layoffs.

Excellent. It has always bothered me that companies say things like our employees are our greatest assets, and yet the moment there is any hint of hard times employees are laid off. The lack of accountability at the exec level is staggering.

The company is cannibalizing itself to survive. In that sense it’s “normal”. However, this at a interpersonal level

With the current tech layoffs, there aren't even hard times. They're making billions and still lay people off.
