Tom, I know how much time it takes for you to produce these high quality videos, but know they are very much appreciated. The first week of this year I contracted the omicron variant of Covid, and for the first 5 days it wasn’t too bad, then it got worse. I didn’t feel like doing anything for days, but I could watch your videos. They helped me relax, especially at nights, and I really appreciated them. Ive recovered with the help of some medicines that helped me breathe easier, but relaxing with your videos was very helpful. Thank you.

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag I'm very glad you're OK Tom. I hope you have Celox, an emergency bandage, and a tourniquet included. Tom, I've been watching your videos for a while and I have wanted to say this. You are a proper man, the way masculinity should be. You are this big, tough, Viking-looking guy who cans survive out in the wilderness...and you have this little dog that you adore and take good care of. You, although not a vegetarian, make a vegetarian meal for a viewer, simply because it's good and nice to do. You didn't scoff at the vegetarian or make fun of them. You're always kind, compassionate, knowledgable, and well-spoken. You are the kind of man that I'd happily point young boys to as a role-model. This isn't to say that there aren't other paths and ways of masculinity. A scholarly academic who spends their days studying and who doesn't have survival skills can be just as much a man. But what matters isn't having strength, skill, knowledge, or power, but how you treat those who do not have what you do.

Only a few days and you're back in the forest doing what you love and making it look easy. That's a beautiful tarp and just the right size, I know you'll really enjoy using it. Congratulations on the kick starter for the fire bowl, it's so neat and works extremely well owing to its design. Interesting story on Viking meals, boiling instead of frying or cooking directly on fire. I make lots of meals with cabbage but it usually contains a meat also😋 Your meal looked delicious and a little dried meat didn't hurt. Another fantastic trip to the forest, nice camp, fire, food, signature Cimbrer coffee😉, this video had it all brother. Well done, thanks for the hard work and time to bring us along on the trek. Hi Thom , I'm Dean from Southeast Texas. I am glad your injury was not worse . Becoming displacement you could have cute your thumb off . I'm in my late 60's and have been doing bushcraft since I was was 7 y.o. and I've certainly had my share of accidents do to carelessness . Even had to stitch serious injuries up and splint broken bones a few times . This is my first time watching your video. I have enjoyed watching this video. And will continue to watch more . I have a mind set that one never gets to old to learn something new.

Great video Tom, when you started sawing and hacking on that first little tree I was thinking "man, be careful with that", too much coffee? That saw will create a nasty wound if it hops out of that wood, you need a Viking tourniquet and proper first aid kit!

Nice video Tom. Great that Spring is on its way. Its sunny here in Northern Ireland and warm in the sun but the wind reminds us it's still March. Its bad enough to cut your thumb with the axe, but it's probably worse that you had to go home and tell your wife that you cut your thumb with an axe. 🤣 Have a good week.

The humble one pot stew was the mainstay cooking method for many people all over the world prior to the rise of "consumer culture". "Boil ups" are easy to learn, hard to mess up, efficient at stretching your resources, & very healthy as you get hydration as well as solid nutrition. By softening edible plants the boiling also acts as a form of pre-digestion, which works better for our omnivore stomachs. AFIK complicated "cuisine" style cooking was invented by to impress wealthy aristocratic patrons and later spread to nouveau riche, middle & working classes.
