Wooldridge 33 an absolute aluminum monster !

Seattle Boat Show is the aluminum boat capital of the world! Boats and craftsmen from the Pacific northwest are some of the very best.Today I walked with Grant from Wooldridge boats a beautiful 33 Deepwater. This aluminum pilot house boat was massive and had many comforts.Lets take a walkthrough with Grant ! This boat is amazing!

Love Wooldrige boats, they put a lot of thought into boats, once piece windshield, diesel stove/heater, the aluminum hall great for the rocky shores of the lakes of Minnesota. Think that diamond plate back deck would get slicker when wet.

I saw a video of a couple in Florida who bought a Stabicraft 2750 for the gulf. Not sure why more folks don’t go with aluminum.

1) Main thing is cost - Aluminum is very cheap in the Northwest due to cheap hydro power and therefore cheap aluminum production. 2) Terrain around here is rocky and a lot of people like robust hulls capable of taking a little bit of a beating from floating logs, debris, etc. Not as necessary in places like Florida or the Gulf. 3) Aluminum also isn't preferred if you're going to be in the sun all the time. It retains heat a little more and gets hot to the touch unlike fiberglass. It's not as pleasant to be hanging out on/touching in 90 degree+ heat. Definitely not going to want to be barefoot on your aluminum decking. 4) A lot of these aluminum beasts are full cabin to be year-round boats in places with a true winter (or close to it). Most fishing boats in the SE don't need an enclosed cabin, nor would you want one.

I was impressed right up until the absolute shit weld in the head on the cabinet in the head. How that was even allowed to be painted is beyond me . Makes me wonder how scabby more of that boat is that one can't see.

That Weld was good and they welded the whole seem unlike other companies who just weld 2 inch tabs. 🤡

I'm sorry but the aluminum welding on that boat looks really bad, I've seen other boats like "Safe Boats" and they have much nicer and more precise welds. on this boat, they really catch the eye, especially at the entrance to the cabin they look huge
