As someone from a Caribbean country, I found it so surreal to hear you talk about this one time on the podcast. Talking about how you got so into it you made a character. I did the same thing and I swear to god I heard myself speaking over the mic. I even ripped sprites from Alpha 3 and turned them into projectiles for this game in Gamemaker back in the day.

Some trivia: Stuff like the win screen and stage zoom didn't have to be developed from scratch by the creators of this project. In 2009 Elecbyte mysteriously came back and released MUGEN 1.0 which supported HD, widescreen, win screens, and many other features. Then 1.1 (only ever released as an alpha and then beta) added stage zoom. Then Elecbyte disappeared as suddenly and mysteriously as the first time in 2015. So a lot of these features you're not familiar with are actually built in engine these days. "Super Finish detection" was in the WinMUGEN days though. As far as the round icon goes that was built into the vanilla healthbars, and as for screen backgrounds/the name, that was built into the character. If you think this stuff is crazy though, you should see the features added to IKEMEN GO.

Okay Okay, here me out... Mugen Card game. Online Game. Like Teppen. But much bigger roster. Mugen Card game where you can do slight edits of the cards (if you get enough wins with your standard deck) and send them out into the wild to some random pull deck and if they get wins with the card you get points. Mugen Card game where if you get enough "Edit Points" from the previous thing you can make your own card FROM SCRATCH. And it goes into the wild, but You Get First Crack At It!

The point on making doubly sure to backup is SO important! Some people think that it's nuts that I spend more on HDDs than I do SSDs, but, like, I can easily get 16TB worth of storage in one drive for cheaper than only 1TB of an nVME. And I still have files and copies of files going way way back from when I was in high school because I've always hoarded my data. Like yeah, get a super fast drive for your OS, but having internal, non-Cloud based, on-site and machine agnostic copies of your important data is one of the cheapest upgrades you can do to your system and if it even saves your ass ONCE it's paid for itself.

Oh Mugen. The only think i'm thankful about this engine, is that forced me to learn a few things about Graphics. From use of Photoshop, video editing, FX making, Spriting, use of 3D programs. I really don't regret the time spend on it.

Back in '03 or '04 I died, 'cause I saw -- what at the time thought was -- Capcom VS SNK 3 for the Xbox, on a shelf (it was the PAL version of 'EO', with Haohmaru on the cover). Since many Sega IPs were getting sequels and ports on the Xbox, I immediately assumed it was what I wanted it to be. Ironically, and prior to that, I had a magazine with an article mentioning EO and it being released outside of Japan, but within the rush of the moment my brain wouldn't allow for reasonable assessment backed by a not-so-distant memory... That, plus being 11 or 12; not that attentive, and having the letters EO slightly covering the number, made me think for at least a year, it was real... Surely everyone has come across THAT kid on the playground that just makes shit up or recycles a myth read on a magazine/forum: I almost became one of those but NOT based on a lie, but rather simple Human foundation... Years later, one of those kids, a friend-of-a-friend, came up to me and said he had Sonic Adventure 3. This was after the "Big Foot on GTA: San Andreas phase", so I knew better and said: "OK then, bring it here after lunch!" At the very least he could've burned a copy of 2 with a poorly printed fan-made cover ("Really rare, bro, that's why it's faded") and say that Shadow comes back to life in an extra campaign, which would've been semi-believable for that age-range, as Shadow The Hedgehog was already out at that point... Some years after that he ended up selling me his Dreamcast. What did I learn from this? That Capcom needs to make Power Stone 3.

I know this sounds like a minor gripe but a character select menu where it feels like a clusterfuck as far as placement can really diminish the excitement when you're trying to find someone specific. Plus, I don't think I even saw a normal Ryu on the Capcom side on top of Han Baedal being there despite being a SNK character.
