You know what I loved? How when me and a friend sat down with GG2 Overture and played the Story Mode it wound up being one of the most plot dense games in the series. while GG2 Overture is the black sheep of the franchise, at the same time, GG2 is what Daisuke originally wanted GG to be, but the technical limitations of the PSX ruined that idea, so he has more of one reason to not ignore it... but most importantly, it fits well to the overall madness that guilty gear is, since that would mean that Guilty Gear was pretty close to become the first MOBA.

I have a theory that Ky always had thtat weird eye, based on two things in Rev2. First, Johnny's system voice, when you pick Sin, Johnny says "Oh, you got your old man's eyes." which is a normal thing to say, but when you consider that Sin's gear thing is in his left eye it kinda implies something else. And second you can actually see Ky using some kind of proto-DI in one of the Rev2 movies, right at the end Ky has to lift a giant stone or something and his left eye is right there front and center, glowing red. So yeah that's my schizo theory on Ky always having gear cells or some anime bs left eye.

Thanks for these, Woolie. Lately wanted to get into a fighting game and everyone's pointing at GG(Strife) , so I got Revelator and Rev2 on Steam, but I know nothing about the characters or anything else GG related. Now I know much more about the cast and understand who each character is, their backstory and reasons. Really helps getting way more out of the game.

You better not mistime your drift, hit a wall, untechably bounce back 15 feet, and have to go through your run mode's startup animation again (which costs 10% tension)! I, uhh... got the discounted franchise bundle on Steam, and beat Overture. It was... mostly not a great time. The final boss and Bound By Oath III were great, though.

@@harlannguyen4048 Yeah, Ishiwatari was trying to invent a new genre he called "Meirei Action" which was a combination of the words "Melee" and the Japanese word for "Strategy". Even outright said it was inspired by DotA. But MOBAs weren't really a thing yet so everyone just thought it was a Dynasty Warriors clone.
