God I adore how this game has endless ways to approach a fight. The whole concept of “you have 6 weapons each with two different alt fire modes, 3 super weapons, two grenades, a flamethrower, a chainsaw and a super shotgun with a grappling hook at your disposal at all times” makes it so you can really choose what weapons you want to use. For instance, Woolie used a lot of the ballista and rocket launcher late game, but I preferred the earlier weapons and used a lot of the bottomless micro-missiles to mow down enemies.

Eternal's great, but I prefer how tight 2016 felt. That said the Super Shotty here is unbelievable, such a great idea for close quarters combat and acrobatics

I love how Hayden doesn't turn into the exposition machine as hard as the fans hoped, he was just enough for context to fill in the blanks. Edit: And it's because Doom Guy knows what's going on, what to do, and how to do it. The only times he explains anything is when he could assume DG doesn't know, or needs help.

I didn't put it in here, cause Woolie only used it once during the Khan Mayker fight and once later during the Sin.ico fight. He generally didn't seem to like it or use it much, and opted for the BFG instead.

Man the Gladiator's theme is so good, could actually just be a Killer Instinct track at that point. Overall, still quite like the game but I think it benefits a lot from that honeymoon moment. Don't really have any intention to ever go back (especially after TAG1, that sucked so bad I didn't buy the 2nd one) but it's still a pretty easy recommendation even though a lot of its novelty just wears off quickly to me.

But didn't you want to truly Git Gud (TM)? And by Git Gud (TM) I meant the game telling you exactly what weapons to use on which demons at which time only for you to either use those weapons at the time the game requests it and win or not do that thing and eat sh*t and die, of course...

@@dahakaguardianofthetimelin4780 Yeah it's awfully designed. Beat TAG1 on UV without dying (used extra lives, mind you) and I still thought it was bullshit if that makes sense? It's just not fun to go through. It's like they completely misunderstood their own game or were too salty people weren't using the few mods that were badly balanced. Those spirit enemies are godawful.

@@JDT979 My favorite was enemies having invulnerability shields that you have to wait for them to lower before you can shoot them and the excellent decision to give enemies 35% - 85% damage reduction buffs under certain circumstances or when you fight them using certain weapons, tools and mods, because if you rip out letters from "Your time spent playing this game, your punches, bullets and effort doesn't matter and you're wasting your time" you can probably put together "great game design" out of them.
