Jule, you are an amazing talented knitter! They are all so beautiful. I vote for the metal buttons. I picture you in the sweater with your color work socks and boots. Very cool 😉. Wonderful episode, a nice friendly chat. TY ❤ And yes to sharing your travels!

Love the brass buttons. The contest of metal and wool is so nice.

Happy New Year and thanks for some inspiration! My favourite buttons are the brass ones as well and for needle storage I’d recommend Jésabelle B. She makes beautiful project bags (your Thrive yarn lives currently in one of her large felt bags) and very useful needle cases. I first ordered one for my shorties to store them together and now save some money for a bigger leather case.

I like the brass button the best. It contrasts with the yarn but doesn't dominate the cardigan. Sophie scarf is very good for company knitting. It can be made as small or large as you like.

My vote is for the metal buttons on your Midland cardigan! Think they would be a beautiful yet subtle detail to the design... Thanks for the cozy knitting content Yule. Happy New Year!

Oh, and for the hat pattern I can recommend the Musselburgh hat by Ysolda. It’s so fun to knit and you can choose whatever yarn you like and it fits perfectly. There’s a reason, why it’s so popular. I’m late to this party, but I totally get it.

I like the third option and the 4th option! Not helpful, but either one would be nice. Beautiful socks and sweaters, very inspiring.

Happy New Year! Thread and Maple has an amazing needle and crochet leather binder. You can add to it if you need to. I have it and I love it! Sounds like it might work for you. I enjoyed this podcast. A vlog would be great on your travels. Your knits are also beautiful and so classic. Bye from Northern California, USA

Happy New Years! I love the 4th buttons! I wanted to recommend Thread and Maple for their leather knitting needle holders! They are very well made and I love my binders that I have purchased from them! Also, I would love to watch any podcasts you may do of your travels!!! Happy 2025!

Thanks for sharing your podcast, your latest pairs of socks are gorgeous. I completely agree with you about preferring to work in finer gauge wools on smaller needle sizes, I also prefer wearing lighter weight sweaters. So many beautiful patterns in yarn weights that I would rather not use, it can be a little frustrating.

I’m definitely interested in Journaling. I dabble in it creatively. Glue sticks and scraps of notes or drawings. Put everything in them. Get creative and you’ll enjoy it. And give yourself one to make a fun mess in.

Happy New Year dearest! I love, love the brass buttons, but it's a type of button I love so I might be biased. As for the cardigan: I know you usually wear it over dresses, so maybe a slightly cropped version would work? Like your bookclub cardigan? Or maybe a bit longer? The cardigan looks amazing, though, and you make me want to knit more cables too. Excited for the yarn too!

Lovely episode, Jule :). Funny enough, the midland cardigan and the matcha sweater are in my knitting queue as well, plus my Cousine has been asking for a folklore cardigan gift knit 😅. Regarding your button choice: it would go with either the pearlescent (3. option) or the brass ones (4. option). The former ones make the cardigan look a bit more elegant and „adult“, the latter a bit more informal and cozy :). Regarding showcasing your planning method: I would definitely be interested. It‘s so nice to be able to compare strategies and see what works for other people and might work in parts for me as well. With regards to many patterns using larger gauges at the moment: my initial thought was, that the pressure of creating new patterns fast and in high frequency might be one of the reasons… And at last and most important, I wish you the best of fun and lovely experiences on your travels this year.
