Welcome to Woolly Goodness! Inspired by our lively (and sometimes silly) team messaging channel, it's our biweekly chat where we share what's new and exciting at BT, what we're knitting now, and of course, dive into plenty of yarn talk!
Grab a cup of tea, pop your headphones on, and join us, won't you?
This time: Kenny & Mitch talk about what they do at BT and what led them to work here.
Let us know what you'd like us to talk about next! Drop your ideas & questions in the comments below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At Brooklyn Tweed we are passionate about wool, knitting and design.
We develop and manufacture breed-specific wool yarns that support domestic textile production. This means designing, sourcing, dyeing and spinning our yarns 100% within the USA.
We craft our knitwear designs with the same commitment to timeless quality that we apply to our yarns. Every pattern is meticulously drafted and edited to provide clear instructions that empower knitters to build new skills. Our design team explores the intersection of knitting traditions and contemporary style, to produce patterns that are a pleasure to knit and wear.

Great to meet new faces and wonderful to hear the stories behind the yarn manufacture. But seriously guys, START KNITTING! You'd get a much richer and nuanced understanding of the knitting world once you're experiencing it from the inside. And, echoing previous comments, I'd LOVE to see that documentary get made!

Thanks so much for watching, Carol! (Kenny just learned to cast on!) We'd love to share more of the stories of the people in the American wool industry - there is so much knowledge and skill that's at risk of being lost.

Absolutley that history needs to be documented! It struck me when Kenny said “ why hasn’t this been updated ?!” that so many people have no idea about woollen mills , spinning, dyeing etc. The old machines and traditional techniques need to be kept alive because we dont know how things will go for the future. Handmade will always be precious and more meaningful. Thank you for this video, behind the scenes is so important and a huge part of how a business pulls together.

Funny how Mitch said how he ended up at BT. You can connect with people any never know who they are or where you will be. Enjoyed the conversation.
