Had to help a friend carry one of those Craftmatic beds up to a 3rd floor walk up on Staten Island, needless to say when they moved out the bed stayed there.

Great set of PSA/Commercials. I definitely love the Chicken Little PSA with Paul Frees, which I haven't seen in ages.

That's it... I'm learning the Woodsy Owl song on my guitar, going to record a video of me singing and playing it, and posting it as a video response to this. He was such a great singer. :) Also, I remember that Library Ad. The Dental Association AD frightens me, but I still love to eat candy. I am just afraid of the ad. I also fondly recall the AMA ad, and how I learned how to read the word Diptheria at the tender age of 5. Chicken Little reminds me of my husband, especially @ 7:57.

Only ones I could recall were Woodsy (I guess *recycling* wasn't the hip thing to do in '80) and the AMA ad which would be on nearly everyday during Romper Room on WOR in the early 80s.

I remember the Chicken Little PSA. I only saw them on WABC before the station would sign off for the night. Thank you for posting this, especially considering that what is now My9 has gone to crap.

I clearly remember Woodsy and the AMA hopscotch PSA. Didn't the Shirt Tales have a PSA that appeared on WOR often?

Did stations like WOR use a film projector for the commercials that weren't shot on video cameras? Most of them look like they were shot on movie cameras so that they could be projected onto a movie screen.

Channel 9 was garbage to us kids in 1980 except Romper Room.

Rex Humbard.....I forgot about this guy!...I guess he was the first to nose dive from that group who used God's word to threaten people and not show Love the way the Bible tells us to....Swaggart next to follow...
@epaddon7 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Humbard was never among the group associated with scandals and in fact was honored in the Broadcasters Hall of Fame for his career.

@AThaler I've been looking for that one (hilarious!), or at least any of these "Old Mother Hubbard" bits, and it was like they all dropped off the face of the earth! (and let's not forget the similar "Farmer Brown" ads) No information on them anywhere!

To music buffs: Can anyone nail down which rendition of "Twelfth Street Rag" was played on "The Joe Franklin Show" at this point? (It certainly wasn't Pee Wee King's.)
