The fact you've worn down the teeth on a core drill shows how hard you work! And without breaking any teeth too!

Beautiful pipework. 👌👍Shame on honeywell though if it was my house I'd have to pay to pay you extra to fit a third silver one 🤣
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I don't know why honeywell provide white ones with the cylinders and but you can only buy silver ones from the merchants. If I'm honest the white ones are in theory safer as they have a plastic lid, the newer honeywell silver top ones do have an earth strap to the lid but surely it would be better to be non conductive material, thanks for watching as always

Hiya great video, very neat work. What did you end up doing with the top connection on the combination valve ( i think its the balanced cold @ 18:24 ) ?
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
I just capped it off in the end, the connection is for the cold taps and showers so the hot and cold will be balanced, I didn't use it on this job because it would have meant needing to run extra pipework in and if I'm honest it didn't really need it on this one, thanks for watching

Tried to installed the heating system Megaflo. I've never done it before. It happens that I manage to connect the gas pipe to the cylinder. 🤣🤣🤣
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
It easy done mate, I've done it once was I was rushing around and under massive amounts of pressure, I was lucky in the fact I tested the gas first and realised something was wrong, it's a mistake I will never make again, I don't think I've ever told the story to anyone but it could have ended very badly if I'd switched the water on first

Your videos really make a difference. Great job as always.@12:05 "Messing with my OCD"- Fellow OCDs will fully understand! I have not seen the white Honeywell (class 2?) 2 port valves before, are they new? Looking forward to commissioning video ,hoping that you will show how setting up the sequence of gate valve, abv & rad valves.Thank you again and have a well earned Easter break.

Honeywell seem to supply the white topped ones with these unvented cylinders that I fit. They have done this for at least a couple of years now and I have no idea why. Surely its more expensive to make the different coloured lids. I'm looking forward to getting the boiler commissioned, I just need to finish fitting the radiators in the house once its plastered then I'll be back on the job. Thanks for watching as always and have a good bank holiday mate

Hey tom on the balanced cold why don't you cap it with a 22mm brass blanking disc

Hi mate did you end up fitting a damper?Why would you need one is it for energy efficiency or to slow down the draught/pull. Just curious, always great videos from you pal.👍
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, this model does need a flue damper, I believe Worcester use them to slow down the flue, I assume this improves efficiency slightly as all older models run fine without, I will try and find out for sure and update, thanks for watching 👍

Another excellent video Tom, can I just ask if you had more than one return is that essential for example if you have got two heating zones upstairs and downstairs or can you just run a single return for all of it ? Andy
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, the important bit is to keep the hot water return as last one back into the boiler. You may find if you just join the returns in randomly under a floor, in the summer when just the hot water is on, the water may creep up the heating return and warm up particularly the upstairs radiators via gravity circulation, hope this helps
@davidkneale7455
@davidkneale7455 2 жыл бұрын
@@PlumbLikeTom reverse circulation! It's OK to tee the heating returns together though before the last tee for the cylinder.

What year is your apprentice in mate? Seems like a handy lad who wants to do a tidy job. One of my pet hates when doing oil repairs is Kbb's and fuel lines through the same hole! just makes replacing failed F/Valve hard work.............

Jacobs been with me 5 weeks, he's in his 3rd year at college but still needs to finish his level two onsite stuff, hopefully he chooses to stay and work with me once I get him through his qualifications. I hate to see fire valves through the same holes as fire valves, it makes life hard work for literally an extra to minutes to drill another hole, thanks for watching as always mate
