Thank you for the battle report. My only criticism is that brutal was forgotten a few times, such as when Lorgar harmed Valdor and the Mhara Gal dreadnought vs the Achilles dreadnaught.

Good game! Custodes hit like a freight train and they are still S tier. Just a little rule reminder, the Gal'Vorbak's weapons are rending AND murderous strike 6+. Therefore, with the murderous strike, a few more Custodes should have dropped. Larger could use all the help he can get ;)

The Librarian can't cast Biomantic Augmentation while locked in combat. It says "Instead of making a shooting attack" the model may cast this power. Bc he's locked in combat, he can't make a shooting attack and therefore can't cast the power.

Since it says "instead of making a shooting attack," I don't think that the power would then count as a shooting attack. The only stipulation to not casting the power is making a shooting attack, as far as I see it.

Didn't see any comments on the teleport mistakes. The teleporter array only works on infantry so no dreads, and units selected can only be 5 man before any independent characters join.

Hey there! Yeah I definitely fucked that up, but I am pleased that the teleporter scattered me back far away. So at the end of the day I am pleased with the game gods punishing me like that lol.

Custodes invulnerable saves feel bad when they happen. 6++ just doesn't feel right, but it does at least mean people are happy to play the banana Boyz.

What do you suggest? I agree last edition with 4++ and 3++ shields was incredibly strong, but 6++ with 5++ shields is quite fair to me. Especially with a mediocre warlord trait, no reactions, and no extra reactions. Lots of our units have really good statlines but no special abilities like move through cover.

@@SpetsnazStevens I think it's pretty close to perfect in that if you give Custodes much more they become oppressive again. In my mind something like 2d6, take the higher on the saves would be cool but I'm not sure how the math works out with rolling an extra dice versus increasing ++ saves by 1.

I fucking love the look and design of the Ashen Circle, such a cool model! They left their armor grey post treason? I thought all Wordbearers repainted their armor crimson and black

Canonically, they were purged from the legion before the repainting as they were kind of an anti-religious organization

Some units such as the Ashen Circle, Recon & Scout Squads retained their original grey Legion colours (for various different reasons).

@Krieg Sauce dont have liber imperium infront of me to quote directly so ill just quote the warhammer community article. "Once an enemy unit fulfils the essential criteria to count as a ‘Nemesis’ unit the Custodes can engage, gaining +1 Attacks, +1 to Charge Rolls, and never needing to roll higher than 4+ to score a Hit - unless that foe is a Primarch."

@@Smokey_Bluntz However, that does get turned off if the Primarch is joined by anything, because the UNIT has to be a Primarch, as soon as they join a squad or have a retinue, nemesis works again... for some reason.

@@wallerl2896 You're not wrong, I was actually going to use that Emperor of Mankind model to proxy him, but then I found out the base was super wrong sized for Valdor so I just used my Converted Tribune. Trust me I wish I had a better model on a proper base to use, the rest of my armies have lots of cool conversions!
