Only just discovered this (Oct 2023) series of tutorials (Beginner to Expert). Absolutely perfect. Better late then never but I should have searched it out two years ago. I have a couple of quite large documents that will now get revamped to something more professional looking. I'm just very grateful that it is all still available. Dan is the best online tutor that I have listened too. Many thanks again.🙂🙂🙂

@brianspiller90754 жыл бұрын
Regarding creating PDFs from a Word document. You should not use either the Print as PDF or Save As a PDF. The best method is to use Export as PDF where you take advantage of creating bookmarks in the PDF from Word's Headers or Word's Bookmarks.
@brianspiller90753 жыл бұрын
@@Инь-Ян I have not used PDF creation application for document creation. There are a couple of objects that frustrate me in laying out in Word. Are there any advantages to using the Adobe Pro printer over Word's built in Export to PDF? I have used Nitro pro only for combinng, splitting and extraction with PDFs. MS has come a long way since there is now some facility to directly create a PDF.

Thanks for the tutorials. After 5 times deleting macro I found out in Office 365 that you have to use the arrow keys, not the mouse to move to add a hyphen. The shortcut of Alt F11 does not work on my laptop with Windows 10. It opens the Laptop's stuff. It seems like the Office 365 2021 Windows is a pain.

Dear Sir, I'm trying to get a little more familiar with "fields" and I met a problem that I can not solve. Maybe you will be able to help me. So, I'm working on more than fifty pages documents with lot's of sections. Sometimes I have to update few pages and put in the footer new issue date, but often it is hard to keep other information in footer the same as in the other ones. I tought that the fields could be a solution. Is there a way to put on te first page a field to be filled by the user, let's say with document number, and then, on other pages we could paste a reference to this field, just for displaying. I hope that this field would update if I would change the entry on the first page. Please let me know if it is feasible. Thanks!

That can happen if you are changing the file type of the document. Such as saving as a PDF.
@ContehAlimamy-p1k Жыл бұрын
okay But, most of the time I save as a word document. for examples if I save as a word document maybe, I turn off the computer without saving the changes that I have made in the save as document. When I come back, they will tell me to save it as if i have not yet save it: "save as in word document" they will tell me to save it like I have never save it before like saving it in a new location in your computer @@LearnitTraining

@@Locomaid He takes the wrong way to "Clean" the text or reformat it. ANYONE using that MANUAL method to format text INSTEAD of using STYLES just doesn't understand. Clear formatting, Apply correct Style, done. THEN he later goes the LONG way to the TOC Level styles. He consistently misses the STYLES dialogue box and features. Start with a STYLE Set for Formatting and apply to a Template file or even your Normal.Dotx template file. Create Content in OUTLINE VIEW so all header levels are applied correctly. Then, since a style Set defines ALL YOUR TEXT STYLES for Headers, TOC Levels and other standard elements such as footers and other references has already been defined, the only remaining formatting that may be needed is applying Styles for things such as long Quotes or other special paragraphs or texts. He does show what happens clicking the Pilcrow in the Ribbon, but note what happens when those footnote markers are used and how to change which hidden text shows when toggling show-hidden-text with that Pilcrow symbol.
