ok i was searching here and maybe here we have found why he is hated by many supposed-good people. They see him as an Abel, probably, who shows them their insufficiencies and that they act like they want the best for people, but actually they do not want the best for people. And that's very bad, if your power in life comes from the fact that you tell people you're doing good for them.

Humility is low self perspective and isn't virtuous. Arrogance exaggerates self importance. Hubris. Confidence is assurance, however, humility is lowering assurance, arrogance is exaggeration of assurance. Neither extreme are desirable and neither are virtuous.

@@J.7.1 It appears that there may be quite a flaw in this conceptual definition of humility. Humility is not the equivalent of degradation. It is the reality of accepting your own limitations. Bruce Lee was a very humble man, but still understood that most normal people couldn't defeat him in physical combat. Abraham Lincoln was humble and after numerous failed attempts at being a political leader he became president. Albert Einstein was humble and created nuclear physics. Being truly humble means you can understand your strengths AND your weaknesses so that you never exalt yourself. I also realize that I am intelligent, but I don't act like I know everything, nor insult others' intelligence, nor rush swiftly into every argument to prove greater cognizant ability. I accept my strengths and my terrible flaws (which I continue to try and improve). Humility is not the extreme. Self-degradation into depression and insecurity is the extreme. Truly humble people are not depressed and insecure. Nor are insecurity or depression virtuous. Pride/arrogance are extremes. To consider yourself superior to others or to place yourself and/or accomplishments in a grandiose manner or place is obviously problematic and negative to ones environment. To simplify matter for discussion; Humility allows you to continue your journey. Pride means you've already arrived.

Because Peterson has become quite shady to some of us. I loved the guy, read his 12 Rules For Life, and while there’s some great information in there, it’s all basic stuff. There’s also criticism against him for not being as wise as one would think. For example, in his book he talks about “Not Allowing Your Child to do Anything That Would Make You Not Like Them”, and in this chapter he talks about flicking his child on the wrist and giving his toddler dead stares like that of a crazy man in order to manipulate them. While I don’t think a flick on the wrist is bad compared to things a lot of other parents do to their kids, this is manipulative and will teach your children that they too can manipulate people by giving crazy stares and such, let alone how that may affect how your child sees you. Steve Franssen (faaar from a leftist) here on YT criticized JP pretty well. I suggest people go over to his channel and check out the argument for themselves. Also, I find it interesting that he came out of left field with hundreds and hundreds of followers and subs prior to getting mainstream attention.

Blank Hero - As a 40 year old Māori (Indigenous to NZ) I’ve just started to discover how much depth of analogy and metaphor are in our traditional stories. What many of our own people think are fantastical children’s stories, are actually highly complex transmissions of knowledge between elders and children. Just amazing. When it’s explained and broken down, the penny drops and you’re like “of course that’s what it means”. Magical stuff really.

But, these small segments of his speeches have and are helping me enormously go through challenging moments of anxiety and not fall back into addictive type of behaviors. I always listen to one of them in the mornings and in the evenings as a form of meditation, and for some reason, the speech that I need in the moment always seems to pop up on the screen. This reminds me of writing essays for my English class. Fellow classmates asked me how to get high marks and I would usually say something like take a basic story and get really really creative with interpretations (take the tiniest details and make them a big deal in order to reach your word count) - if you can entertain the instructor you'll get an A. And obviously cite everything, use a citation generator.

Can’t put into words how many old doorways this is opening in me. Pinocchio was one of our movies in the old vhs collection that I grew up with in the early 80’s. I also, was very close to and fond of my father, and I remember how I would float off into the depths of my little mind when I’d dive into these old fables. I always knew there was a deeper meaning to their lessons and that they’d resurface to me at some point. This is mind blowing to me. Also, if any of you ever had the old Robin Hood Disney cartoon, the music in it was seriously profound for a children’s movie, and the melodies come out of nowhere for me at times. Our little minds are like brand new sponges, soaking up every drop to be exhausted within us at a later time. 🙏

The willingness to humbly move towards logic as a precursor of hope alleviates the burden of sustaining scrambled emotions that lead to despair/depression. An expression I value “where in this quagmire lies the toe of truth”. Be unafraid to seek the structure.

im a flat earther by the way. The bible is a masterpiece of ancient alegories most people dont realize it yet , but its an archive of ancient history forgotten in modern day ....... most people dont read the chapter of genesis & buy into Nasa telling them they're on a spinning pear tossed through space at 500000 mph . truth of the matter -> Earth is flat , planets are lights and there's a dome above us to contain the atmosphere (nasa calls it the van allen belt). Space as we know it is a fairy tale for people whos brain is on autopilot. Only research can liberate you from the globalist elite's brainwashing.

People talking about how one man, JP, changes people's lives. He is amazing. Mufti Menk is another who changed many lives with practical advise. Both are amazingly impactful.

I’d say that perhaps Jesus is the chaos that we all must confront in order to find our Father.

If there is choas, and you don't know what to do, either forgive the person or situation or let go and let your higher power have the reigns. And putting discipline in life like getting a job or volunteering may need to be added.

Kerry Blouin Peterson is the next best thing to the Lord Jesus .... but a faaar and way less adequate second. If you subscribe to Jesus, then just listen to Him and NOBODY ELSE ... including Peterson. No one can substitute what He gives. If you follow Jesus, then Peterson can serve as an academic exercise to help focus on life issues. But always run whatever you get from Pete by Jesus for final confirmation. Jesus is Lord. God bless you.

In the future, the world will look back at this moment and remember the man of Jordan Peterson, the most important thinker of his time, who learnt his predecessors works in psychology and expanded them to the point that human beings begin to realise enlightenment is a matter of learning, understanding and discipline rather than meditation.

10:40 - to the end. If I could own any one character trait, this would be it ~ I admit it. I'm insufficient. I still have something to learn, I still have something to learn ~ Humility is the antidote to arrogance. Man, that really hits home.

Once when I was drawn through caring for my 2 toddler children to walk along the bank of a fast moving river with their father who had been for 1 year behaving lost with post concussion syndrome after an industrial accident while he still had way more muscle strength than me I had to make some quick emergency decisions while being forced to do my best to calculate the possible final balance of probabilities during a tight situation. There was no way I was going to get into a tug of war ever with him over my children. So when in surprise he cried out that he was going to throw me in the river while reaching for me just as I got far enough away to not get thrown in on his terms. After seeing the bank of the river was slippery and steep not while not willing to risk being thrown in leaving my children maybe behind for good when maybe both of us or more slipped into the river during another struggle I did the most shallow dive I could into the river, made my way over to the other side and then after a short rest while hanging onto a tree root then I swam back to my children with their father on that bank again who started watching what was going to happen to me next. When I reached the same side of the river again the bank was less steep and slippery and so when I got out of the water the rest had enough of the great outdoors and were happy to go home safe and sound with me again while still not being granted the right to drive the family car on my call yet. That was 20 years ago with all of us alive still. I may have been a fool thinking I could swim across a river and back again with lungs that were a bit compromised however if I want to avoid becoming a jackass too I better keep on listening with responsibility.
