i started crying when you said that the breakfast sandwich being cold triggered you because YES. it sounds so silly, but when you’re in that mental state, something so stupid can break you. i work 8-5 desk job, i’m taking 5 classes, and i stream (on twitch) part time. it can be so much, but reminding myself where i am and why i am here helps. making lists for time management and writing things down so it’s not all floating in your head can be VERY helpful. also, i have been taking CBD for about 4 months now and it’s super helpful for the crazy stressful times. i don’t need it every day, but when i’m at the office starting to feel overwhelmed, i’ll chew on a gummie or two and it really does help! doesn’t interfere with your brain while working either. highly suggest it. keep your head up, but thank you for being so raw and honest! love how relatable you are 💜

Brooke, I cannot parise you enough for expressing your emotions on camera. A lot of us try to hide our emotion and hold everything back when in reality it is okay to let everything out once in awhile. I think it is great that you are showing that once in awhile there are those times we just get overcome with emotion and sometimes crying for even 5 minutes will make us feel better! Mental health is just as important as physical health! Brooke you're such an inspiration thank you!

Give yourself 6 months or a year at the job, create more content, create a business, make an exit plan and get excited about it!! Brooke, I don't know exactly how you're feeling but based on what you've shown us, I can definitely relate. I moved to NYC shortly after college, had a job that I did all the work for by around lunch every day like you mentioned and was honestly either totally stressed or totally bored. lol no matter how hard I tried, I became more and more upset. I think that you may come to a point where you realize that something really needs to change. While I know you're still getting adjusted to this job, you should also know that you deserve to feel balanced in all areas of your life. I quit my job and I'm actually back in school now and I legit can't even believe how different I feel. It takes time but you will figure out exactly what you want for your life and what you just don't need! That being said, I hope the field you're in now works out for you (if that's what you truly want)!!

It will get better Brooke! I graduated college last year and looking back on it it was really rough. You have to deal with so many changes at once and no one talks about it. Hey Brooke! I just recently started watching your channel and I have to say that I really appreciate how real and honest you are about what you are struggling with. I just finished my masters in counselling psychology and I will say, a lot of my clients feel the same way you do. For the things you are juggling and the goals you are aspiring to achieve, it’s OK to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed. It’s normal. Use this as a red flag for yourself to recognize when you need a time-out and to reevaluate what’s on your plate. If it’s anything I can offer-- be gentle with yourself.

Brooke, the feelings you’re experiencing are completely natural. There’s actually a medical / psychological “condition” (I say “condition” because it’s not anything crazy serious) known as Adjustment Disorder that can cause feelings of uncertainty, overwhelmed feelings, stress and lot of other emotions any time something changes in your life, big or small, and even if you think you’ve adjusted just fine. Sometimes it can still affect you almost subconsciously. I’m experiencing this still 5 weeks into a new semester after I’ve moved and gone through soooo many changes. It’s frustrating because my roommates aren’t experiencing what I’m experiencing so it made me question what’s wrong with me. I’ve had SO many friends experience this exact same thing post grad with trying to adjust to new jobs, professional school, side hustles and more. Just know that your feelings are valid and everything is going to work itself out! I’m loving the videos lately and it’s so evident that you work hard in life and only great things will come your way. Love ya Brooke!✨

As someone who is a little bit older than you and remembers those days, you just have to suck it up, deal with it, and keep perspective. You're in the "hustle" stage of your life- hustle at work, side hustle to make extra money- and it's a lot somedays but you keep going. For me, I feel like I'm at the end of that hustle period- finally working a good job, own a house, don't worry about paying the bills, work remotely a couple days a week and have a ton of flexibility between work and life... and it finally feels easier for me after years of working two jobs, doing grad school, going all out to the point of exhaustion everyday. I hope you can get through the bad days because it means that there will one day be good days ahead :)

This video spoke to me so so much. The stuck feeling, trapped, limits, feeling like you’re losing so much of your life. I started a new job two months ago and it was nothing like I thought it would be. We are creatives, we need flexibility, we need to be productive everyday and feel as through we are putting effort into our futures. I just put in my notice today (I am working two jobs, serving makes me way more money than this day ‘real’ job ever did) and gives me time to write my novel, continue to be a freelance photographer, start my blog and enjoy life. Do what’s best for you girl! You only live one life! ❤️ sometimes people think you have to have a 9-5 and that’s what adults have, but if you have a job that’s paying your bills and allowing you to save AND you’re loving life, then YOU know what’s best for you. I LOVE your vlogs and have for quite some time but I don't always comment, but KEEP IT UP GAL. Last week I was so overwhelmed too that I cried in my 1:1 with my boss... Just needed a good cry! Sometimes you have to let yourself feel so overwhelmed for a little, then get back to it. We've really been going through the same shit lately so your vlogs really do help me since I still have an 8-5 schedule with school and work. Im graduating this year so I've really been trying to figure my shit out but watching you always helps! LOVE YA GAL

Hi Brooke :) when I started my grad job as an engineer 18 months ago, I started to have doubts a couple of months in because I wasn't being challenged. After a while I would offer other people help to fill in time, so I ended up learning heaps of other roles, which means now that work has picked up, I can use all of that info to work super efficiently. So, maybe give it a bit more of a chance, and if you can, use the extra time for self development. Although, if you are asking for extra work and being ignored, the culture of the company could be the real issue, which unfortunately is unlikely to change even as you move up through the ranks. Good luck xx

I needed this, especially the long talks toward the end. I’ve been struggling since starting my first “big-girl” job as an RN after graduating from college in May. It is a hard adjustment and I’m glad I’m not the only one who is having a difficult time. It makes it feel a little less abnormal. I’ve had plenty of breakdowns throughout the past 4 months, so thank you for being open about your struggles too. I hope your good weeks continue to be more plentiful. We’ll all get through this and begin to grow into our new roles!💜

Girl, I feel you on the feeling trapped in your 8 to 5 job. I don't even do KZbin, but after quiting my job last year to do post-grad, I have had the worst time to get back into the whole being at work for biggest part of your waking hours. It actually send me into quite a deep depression, and impacted every aspect of my life. I saw a therapist, which helped me a lot with coming to terms with with post-grad life really entails (even after I already worked for 6 years after my Bachelors degree). It is totally normal I think, and you will most definitely get through this. Good luck!!! Look after yourself.

Brook. I literally started work the same day as you after graduation and it can be so rough some days. I feel like post grad stress and anxiety is not talked about enough! Just know your not alone at all in your feelings!! I decided to reach out to a therapist about my work and life anxiety post grad even though I should be perfectly happy with the life I have. Some days I just sit in my car at lunch and cry bc I'm so overwhelmed and my leadership makes me feel like shit.Doesn't mean our feelings are any less valid bc we are young! Best of luck!!

Sooo I related on this video in more ways than one. I’ve mentioned this before on one of your videos, but my boyfriend is a firefighter so seeing you talk about 9/11 just really hit me and got me emotional. I know how hard it is for them, and the trauma that comes with the job, but they truly are heroes and deserve all the recognition they can get. So thank your dad for all the service he did for us! It’s so appreciated! And also, I started working full-time almost 2 years ago, and I completely understand the feeling of being “stuck”. It’s a really hard feeling... I’d suggest taking one day at a time and finding time for self-care each day, whether it’s exercising, cooking dinner for yourself or meditating - whatever works for you! Also I would highly suggest seeing a therapist. I’ve been seeing one for almost a year (coming up this month), and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. I would get HELLA anxious (and still do sometimes), so I understand the feeling of not being able to breathe. Just know the feelings you have are sooooooo valid, no matter what anyone says - you are strong and you will get through this transition in your life. 💞

THANK YOU for putting in your mini breakdown. I had one the other day because you can't return things in sephora stores if you purchase them using paypal.... The smallest things can push you over the edge, including a cold sandwich. :)

Don’t worry. It’s hard to transition from school to work. In school you get plenty of feedback when ever you need it. Work is just about getting work done and performing for the good of the company. One thing you can do is keep asking questions and learning. You will rise in the ranks and when you do, remember how you feel now and realize that the people who are under you will feel like you do now

Hi Brooke! I've just started watching your videos, and I know this vlog was a few days ago, but I wanted to tell you that when I feel overwhelmed/anxious it helps to make a list. I always have one anyways, but it's like re-doing it and purging all the stuff I have to do on a paper (again) helps. The act of planning helps basically. I also take "me" time. I think it's so amazing how much you're doing (honestly trying to get on the train of podcasts and blogs/vlogs) but I think it's also important to set aside time during your week for just you. Maybe only do editing or podcast or youtube stuff on certain days? That way it's spread out until you feel more stable in life. I mean that in the fact that, you just started a job, are living farther from home, etc. and basically are undergoing a tremendous amount of change in such a short time. Recently, I've also found that cleaning helps or watching "clean with me" videos on KZbin (lol). I hope you feel less overwhelmed soon and I really have to commend you for taking the steps to talk with someone about how you're feeling!
