WORK FROM HOME TIPS FOR STAYING ORGANIZED AND MOTIVATED / I have been working from home for the last six years. So I wanted to share how I stay productive, motivated and focused when working from home. It’s kinda like my secret sauce, and I wanted to share it, so you can tap into your own super focus and use this time to do great work and feel good about yourself.
I get crazy tunnel vision when I work from home. And I wanted to talk about how I stay motivated, focused, and hyper productive while working from home because I truly believe at this point I've mastered the art of it.

These tips are so helpful sunny! ❤️ My biggest work from home tips are to assign times throughout the day to check and answer emails (it’s such a distraction to pause your work every time a new email enters your inbox!) and also leave your phone in another room if you can! I waste so much time scrolling on Instagram when i should be working 😅

I am about to reach 1 year working from home and here is what works for me : 1. No chores. I treat my days like I am in an office, I wouldn't have time to do the laundry if I was in an office. 2. Putting a timer when I can't stay focus 3. And the one that took me the longest to understand : stop trying when nothing works. I have to create lessons and work on my books everyday, and sometimes I could look at my computer for hours and nothing comes up. When I can't write anything for 30 minutes, I do something else for a few hours and come back all refreshed 🙂

Ah sunny, I love your uploads. You are always such high energy and I love it, I was actually feeling a bit stressed earlier, I am an epidemiologist and I make a daily upload on the pandemic, mostly to help reduce the surrounding anxiety for people (if you understand something it becomes less stressful). But I also have three children I'm home schooling all day and the jobs don't stop coming haha so this motivates me to keep going!!.. working from home is so hard because like you have pointed out you need to schedule things so you know your direction. One of the things I do is I schedule my household items just like my work items and I break up day to do that. I also have set schedule each of the different items that need to be like cleaning the bathrooms, picking up the dog poop, yard work, grocery shopping , washing clothes, and my list goes on and on. Like you I find if I set my schedule the night before I can move better and more successful throughout the day. Its all about planning so you can handle the like set backs when they arrive. Thanks again for all your great tips.

Hey Sunny, thanks for the link to the video. I actually have a history of working from home as well, but I don't have a problem working in my PJs. I find it great that I don't have to worry about getting dressed ;-). But that is GREAT advice for people who are finding it difficult. It can help you get into the work mode state of mind. Sometimes life does get in the way of work. It just happens sometimes, and you need to balance that, learn what needs to be handled as an emergency and what can be handled later. I tend to do the dishes first thing in the morning so I am not looking at them throughout the day. Laundry, if I have it goes into the washing machine at some point in the morning when I am between meetings or tasks, or needed to take a genuine break from the office anyway, my problem there is remembering it's in there and moving the clothes to the dryer. My biggest distraction is my dog who has gotten older and he needs to walk when he needs to walk. That has been a problem now and again, but he's really old and he can't help it. Never the less, I make it work.

My wife and I have 9-5 jobs that require is to work from home, but for sometime we've been trying to establish some side hustles that we eventually want to be sustainable through any economy and not have to depend on our "normal jobs". I've taken steps to start a podcast and learn how to facilitate my IG. (I'm going to focus on the IG as my "one thing") I love all your advice, but Its been really difficult doing all this while managing daily life with the kids, and ive had to adjust several times bc its hard to get a "stable routine through the day.

I've been working from home for the last 3.5 years (luckily, my IT business allows it), and I'm much MORE productive when I work from home. And yes, I couldn't agree more on having a routine. I have a routine for literally everything, as with two kids whom I homeschool 100%, and a household to look after, etc etc, - NOT having a routine means I won't get anything done. And I agree on dressing up (I put a nice dress and perfume and a full makeup even when I don't leave the house and don't film videos), and having a home office that will be as separated from your home as possible. For me, I renovated my enclosed balcony, and when I close the door behind me, it's like I'm not at home anymore (I made it really cozy and pleasant to work in!). And the kids know - when mom has the door closed, the hellgates are going to BURST FREE if they make me OPEN that door!! ...Please kids, behave yourselves and don't upset your momma.
