Looking good bro. It makes me happy to see that you want to improve the mobility and articulation, your scratchbuilding knowledge has gone way up since last year. To be honest, I've been following you since maybe 2008 and I never thought you would share so much experience with your followers, thanks for passing on the know-how. Keep up the good work bro.

For the rounded sections, would ribbing work? You could cut out v strips that's half as deep as the pla plate is thick to remove material that would obstruct the plastic when bending, then bend in so the two sides of the channel you made touch. The thinner walls would also be more flexible, but I'm not sure how brittle the plastic itself is. If need be you could support the inside with a bit of epoxy or modeling putty. That method should save on material and sanding time. Great work as always!

"Twinkie with a camera on it" is the best description of anything ever. I wish you luck with this project, can't wait to see what else you can come up with :D.

Have you ever thought about plank on frame construction like in wooden model ships for the curved and rounded areas? Make a frame in the general shape of what you want and then use plastic strips to make the outer skin. Once that's done just sand everything smooth to the way you want it.

I think a good way to add transformable mobility for the fin/claws might be to use a ball joints/hing like pieces if you can find a way to make them look good.(Which for you shouldn't be a cake walk)

***** for your next work in progress could you take us on a step by step tutorial on how you created your custom models using plaplate? I wanna create my own models from my own designs and any help doing that would be greatly appreciated.

Man, I don't envy the work you have cut out for you. But I know you'll pull this off just as well, if not better than your other customs. Best of luck! :)

This will be awesome! No idea how you will be able to model such a strange and complicated ms. Those ball joints seems to be in plastic...strange. I though that aftermarket joint were all in the same rubber as policaps.

I'm new to using pla-plate and I suck horribly at it. How did you get these boxes from a flat sheet of plastic?
