For many years, I believed the myth that you cannot have work/life balance… and then one year… I did! I thought it must be a fluke and was surprised when I continued month after month to set and achieve both home and work goals with time left over in my day.
To be fair, much of my active parenting responsibilities were over in this season of life, but still, no one told me I would ever be able to achieve home and work goals simultaneously. I thought for the rest of my life, I would have to choose work or family.
Today, my balance is a little off as I have added getting a PhD and some extra unexpected events back into my schedule. However, knowing that balance is possible, I have a better-balanced life than when I was trying to focus and succeed in only one or two areas of my life. What about you?
