For people who don't have a grinder, I would suggest using a bolt cutter. It's probably a lot more convenient although it would demand a bit more hand strength.

Yep, I’ve always used a bolt cutter to trim cattle panels (mostly because I only have a corded grinder). If you don’t have bolt cutters (& have time & patience), even a hack saw would work.
