Jason is looking on the wrong side of the tire. He’s also incorrect. All tires last 4 numbers are the week and year. 3524 Always means 35th week of 2024.
@jcarr03144 сағат бұрын
Tire date codes are standardized First 2 digits for the week, second 2 digits for the year
@Onewheelordeal2 сағат бұрын
Often the date code will only be on one side of the tire so you have to crawl underneath to tell, tho these guys had it on a lift

Thats why we truckers call tires in a roadway 'alligator's'. They bite 😢
@Koop4155 сағат бұрын
If you've ever tried to cut a tire off then you know what a pain in the rear it can be. It's basically like cutting metal...because it is cutting metal with those steel chords.

I've used a grinder to do it, but ya gotta have a good purchase on it!! And its alot of smoke!

That's like one of my worst nightmares to be stuck in those super cramped areas under construction on the I-15 and have vehicle problems. Glad the guy was okay.
@Rickyboy7074 сағат бұрын
I had a Murano that displayed an AWD high temperature warning when the spare was used. Replacing the spare with the repaired tire fixed the problem. It's important to have all the same size tires on the vehicle, as is pointed out in this video.
@CZ-kz7ug2 сағат бұрын
If a tire date code isnt on one side its going to be on the other side. Tire shops dont want you seeing how old tires are they sell you. So alot of times they put the date code on the inside if its non directional.
@davidstuck28664 сағат бұрын
your worried over those tires for nothing. the differential has spider gears that are DESIGNED to let the tires spin at different speeds. that's why they do not bind, squeal, and chatter going around sharp corners. now, if, and that's a big if in this day and age, he has a clutch plate style (other than an Eaton G-80 locker) posi-traction differential. THEN its a significant concern because the longer he drives with mis matched tire diameters. the more those posi clutch packs wear, and the less the posi can do. the Eaton G-80 locker has a flyweight that deactivates the locker at speeds greater than about 15 mph. the G-80 is a rather light duty locker, but it works fabulously, until it doesn't.
@bertdijkhuizen52614 сағат бұрын
You are absolutely correct. Without the spider gears, the diff would blow up every time you turned a corner..
@markreynolds16632 сағат бұрын
Blows my mind they call this a “big concern”. Unbelievable
@LogicallyCompromisedСағат бұрын
Must be only straight roads out there in God's country...what happens inside a differential during left and right turns on equal diameter tires? Concerns are unfounded.
@Jacksongamma34 минут бұрын
@@markreynolds1663 I feel like everything said in this video was over complicated. Even if the hard line blew out, they could just bend their own with copper nickel or steel and flare it. They made it seem like it was the end of the world. All they really had to do was slap a new brake hose on and bleed the brakes lol. The Ebrake didn't look that bad. They could have covered the part with a rubber hose. I guess the whole point of a shop is to do it right thought. I feel like there was too much going on here
@bmxguy084 сағат бұрын
To decifer the tire age by the DOT# they all do it the same. there will be a 4 digit number at the end. first 2 numbers are the week of production and the last 2 are the year. so 0519 would be the 5th week of 2019. the last 4 numbers will usually be only on one side of the tire. so if you dont see it on one side look at the other.
@ralfsautomotiveСағат бұрын
What are you talking about?? Tire date code is Standard. For tires made since the year 2000, the tire date code is always the last four numbers in the series. The first two digits represent the week of the year the tires were made, and the last two digits indicate the year
@DavidJohnson-yd2jwСағат бұрын
I would move both front tires to the rear to keep the tire diameter the same and the odd tire to the front to prevent any damage to the dif. until he has time to buy more tires.

Business or no business... People with an appointment should be served first! They also easily on their vehicles. This truck comes last in the line, messes your schedule up, makes guys work overtime because it's a unscheduled "road casualty" and he's depending on it. But, people with appointment should be served first. They waited patiently, let their trucks be handled by you on time. So those people shouldn't suffer because of this truck wiggling in between...

Sawzall that tire out of there. Those tin snips are worthless. Date code on a tire is only on one side, look on the inside. And Miles needs to watch a video on how a differential works. Unless it's a limited slip the truck will run fine. I thought you guys knew more....

If this was a limited slip differential, the spare should’ve been put on the front. If not, there’s no huge concern.
