All roads lead back to Carol for tshirt quilts! I've been binging content in preparation to start sewing mine and it always come back to Segovia. I notice you split them into quadrants. Could you do a video explaining why that's better than piecemealing them? You are SUCH a good teacher! Thank you for your amazing content!

Well thank you, and thanks for watching! Honestly, you can do quadrants or piecemealing, whatever you find works best for you! I don't really do quadrants anymore either. Now I start with all the blocks that I can complete the seam. Then I start adding the blocks that can only have partial seams and then everything goes together from there.

Carol I have a quick question. What needle do you use when making a T shirt quilt? Piecing and quilting on a single needle machine? Thank you.

Great question! When I'm piecing the blocks together & when I'm quilting, I use a 90/14 or 100/16 universal needle. I don't switch between ball point or sharp either. I've honestly never noticed a difference when using a ball point compared to a sharp needle. Maybe on some fabrics like batiks you would be able to tell but not on tshirt fabric.

I was hoping you would show how to do the tricky corners where you have to fit a block corner into a 90 degree angle.

I can a video showing how to do that for you. No problem at all. My family and I are going out of town tomorrow for a week so it'll be about two weeks before I can post a video showing that. But I'll make sure to get one up that really shows the details and how to do it. Thanks for watching!

@@Kelly.A. Thank you! And thanks for watching. I'll for sure do more videos like this. I'll make sure to slow down and spend more time on the sewing process for the next one I do. There are times when I'm able to mix things up a bit. For this particular client, because I've done so many tops for her, she gives me free reign over the design of the layout. I recently did a Duke University themed quilt top where there weren't a lot of t-shirts so I added several half square triangles to fill up more of the space. It came out great!
