IDEA ONE (of course, the Party is all-knowing, and it was their idea all along): One of the thing I noticed, and is done repeadedly, is the total disregard for footpaths. One entrance, delete others, kind of thing, doesn't seem like good idea. The people always follow the shortest route, if available, and the walking distance everything. Yet, footpaths are ignored. You most likely need all the entrances for the building connected to the footpath, not just one, so people could enter and leave where the distance is shortest. Constantly deleting the additional entries to the builts starts to get annoying, since it creates further problems down the road. You also need footpaths built in the way that people don't have to follow the roads and instead could walk across. I don't know how to put it in words, not in my native language, let alone in English, but you need to provide as many shortcuts as possible via footpaths, if there is a U-shape road, you need to make footpath connection between so it looks like A-shape.

If the entrance which is closest to the bus stop/shop is connected then that's all that's needed. People go to work or to shopping using that route every time, they wouldn't use an alternative exit from the building anyway.

Pollution is most likely from overflowing trash bins. You're expanding without getting more trash service.

I think it's mainly overflowing sewage, but it could be both when the Tech Office vehicles weren't being maintained. If he put some of the overlays on we would have more information. But definitely the shop has been complaining regularly about sewage, but not its waste containers.

​@@Lucas-gt8enIt's also one of the very oldest buildings, so must be over 6 years old. So it will take about two more years to get to 50%. As long as he doesn't let it go that long before preparing for building maintenance.

"You can't have too many monuments" Yes, you can. They are not cumulative, people can only benefit from one. So having multiple overlapping ones is just wasting resources. And I think there is actually a limit on how many you can build. Even if you don't hit that limit in this city, you may limit yourself later.

In my latest run I tested a little oil beginner's strategy that you may want to implement: Have one oil truck collect oil from the respective pump and have it deliver to a large oil tank nearby. This way: 1) no pipelines from the pumps to the tank are necessary for the moment 2) the pumps never stand still untill the tank is filled up, so you don't lose oil while trucks drive to the customs office 3) by the tank filling up (or not) you can check if it's worthwile buying another oil truck 4) by the time you get around to build a proper pipeline or train connection you will already have stored a huge amount of oil for big scale export via train or for your refinery. It's quite cheap to build the big tank, the liquid loading/ offloading station and a short pipeline between the two.

Oil (and all other basic materials like coal,wood) is expensive to transport by trucks, you need train to make this bulk of cargo viable against burned fuel (el. trains are downright OP in this game, no weather impact, barely any running cost, tons cargo moved at double speed of most large trucks)

One more thing - try to replace this one small shop in city center (one with warehouse and meat storage) for one decent shopping mall - it should cover whole city. Also try to fit as much apartments in 300-350m radius from bus station, expanding in one direction will only cause need of building additional utilities, which will drain your workers pool and give no benefit. I run 5k city on one Okeon Supermarket (it's from DLC) one hospital, 2 fire stations (1 normal and one small one in case of earthquake and instant collapse of 1st fire station), one cinema, one art gallery, one swimming pool and one sport hall and people demands are met. Also you have 35% or so alcohol addiction, that's bad - close your pub.

If i recall correctly, tower cranes should be available to you, just not in the place you are looking for. Since they are not able to drive by themselves and have to be transported via truck, you have to buy them at the border crossing, where they will get stored until you send one of your open hulls to pick them up. While you're at it, sometime it pays to check the import of used vehicles at the border crossings to get some expensive - but damaged - vehicles for a more reasonable price.

Next? Maybe start using your empty towns as forward outposts for resource exploitation. They don't need to be big or nice but revenue generators for your big cities. Think a Wages of Fear/Sorcerer vibe.

I get you may not have yet seen my comments on the last video, but in case you missed them, I will repeat myself. At a couple of minutes in you discussed the theory that lack of food to some workers was due to lack of workers in the shop. But showed the shop having more than enough workers, with no-one waiting to be served. Look back at the video and you see that it was there on the screen saying the shop had overflowing sewage. The sewage tank needs to be emptied, but the vehicles are breaking down. With R80k in the bank I feel you should just buy a new sewage vehicle on a line going to the shop to guarantee that it gets it sewage removed. Then move that new vehicle to Tech Office only when the maintenance is sorted out. You should micro manage which vehicles are going for maintenance first. But it's nice to see that it is finally working.

It's connected, so probably the sewage is overflowing everywhere, and the changing levels of polution are reflecting that the truck occassionally empties the plant, but never drops as distance is too long, and the ammout of waste to large. It's probably easiest solve with direct connection to waste disposal oulet. Worth the cost

I would say also that there maybe situations where an existing shop is insufficient. But the game is not good at handling this. People looking for food tend to all prefer the original shop when both are in range. They don't realise that one has a long queue outside waiting to be served until they join that queue. They don't adjust their plans, they just wait, hoping to be served. They will wait for an hour. The situation has to be really bad on a shop that size with those potential shop workers for people to wait for an hour. If they are still not served, they give up and look for something else, like cinema, sports. They do NOT look for somewhere else to go shopping for food, it's a once per day only thing. That means they can repeat the same stupid behaviour day after day. However, as I said, this could only be an issue if you either take all the shop workers away to other jobs, or you significantly grow the number of people living within the area of the shop, above what it can cope with. Neither seem to be the case here. You do not have a very dense population because of this sort of ribbon development along the top of the ridge. People get problems when they build a number of the biggest tower blocks in a very small area and expect all those people to use a medium sized shopping centre. You haven't. I think you will find the extra shop is hardly used for shopping, but it will require workers, so that's taking them away from other jobs.

@@cannaewargaming4815 If waste, could be resolved by placing the single more, or two, septic tank, and have them manually emptied by cisters. They don''t need to have connection, so it is waste from the shop and few houses, it would give the leeway for handling polution as the waste station now handles the industry, causes polution, but happiness won't drop as flats are saved. Cheap. Then plan for the sewage connection straight to the outlet, worth all the money. I don't know if the game tries different shops, but I am certain it tries a new shops. A large ship would be more likely do attract shoppers, likely next day (And you could then demolist the old one in worst case scenario you have large shop to take care of everything) But I wouldn't try the big shop construction to replace small until other issues are sewage, income, and others major issues

IDEA TWO(of course, the Party is all-knowing, and it was their idea all along): MORE OIL RIGS. A very purpose of this map is to have economy based on oil! Having measly three rigs and three trucks on the map with massive supply of oil is plainly ridiculous. I bet there are several oil fields in your immediate vicinity! Even on the normal map you could have more! Expand the extraction and export of the crude oil finally, and fulfill the premise of the chapter by expanding the oil economy, there is MASSIVE supply of oil. You could afford the pipelines and silos, buy more trucks, and prepare to move oil export to railroad. Only product you would be producing in any relevant quantity on this map is OIL!

When he had alot of money earlier in the episode he could easily have bought three new oil trucks. They would pay for themselves in no time. Rinse and repeat.

The problem right now is until proper geological surveys are complete, The Chairman has to scan the map manually to try and guess where Oil is. (The party knows where Oil is, but we havent attended orientation yet so they wont tell the rest of us)

He could easily construct infrastructure for this pumpjacks (oil storage and loading station) to improve export, but well, monuments and pools and fountains were more important.

@@ceeiresov He showed us the costs. He forgot about silos, even though he need them, for smoothness of operation, but the entire project would be finished for like 100k, or 200k with new trucks. A short pipelines cost around 20k in steel which he can't produce, but he would have that paid back soon.

The construction office only needs power to put gas into vehicles. If you're not going to deliver gas to the CO and have the vehicles get their gas from a station then no need for power to the CO.

You're probably far past this by now, but you don't have a source for prefab panels set in the construction office, which is why your sewage pipes aren't/can't be finished.

I think monuments just raise the minimal loyalty and do not stack. I think a radio station is needed to increase loyalty.

Hmmm... I wonder if it'd not be better to supply only one of the stores with meat. I feel like most of the people are in demand of food anyways, so having the 2nd store focusing on just food will ease on the supplies a bit especially that refrigerator truck (the small store has low meat capacity so without storage, the truck will have to service it quite often). And the people won't be visiting the store for meat if it's not there. Anyways, not sure how far you are ahead in the series, so maybe the meat supply won't end up being a problem anyways 😅

nice work you need trucks in your maintenance building move the bus end station in to the maintenance zone as well it will fix busses every time they stop without pulling them from there line ,pollution is your trash and sewage your waste system is not working

I don't believe that's correct. I know another KZbinr said it on his videos, but I think he was probably wrong. They will only get maintenance when they need it, and when they need it they must stop and wait for several days for the maintenance to complete. They can't just have 10% of their maintenance every time round. The danger of this is that if they stop for any length of time in the end station, they start blocking it for other buses. He probably doesn't have enough at the minute to make that an issue, but it's something we should avoid. It makes most sense to have one more bus than you need, with the spare kept in the depot. When a bus is due for maintenance swap it with the spare bus, then make the repaired bus go to the depot, so it gets a rest. That's how they did it real life. The mechanics didn't jack up the bus out in the open and start servicing the engine when the bus was at the end station for 20 minutes while the driver had a cup of tea. The most that would happen there is fill the tank with petrol and maybe wash the windscreen. The bus was taken out of service for several days while they worked on it in a specialised bus depot, and the passengers went on a different vehicle. The serviced vehicle may then have joined another line completely. And, of course, you can make the decision at that point whether to even allow the bus taken off the road to be maintained. There comes a point where they will need to be replaced, and while that can be automated, some degree of player management of that process is probably required for things like buses.
