Workflow From Home: Ep 10 - Scaling Remote Post Facilities

In Episode 10 of “Workflow From Home” Panavision’s DI finishing facility, Light Iron, takes us behind the scenes as they temporarily shifted to working from home. In basically one weekend, their engineering team got the colorists ready to pack up their expensive equipment and set it back up themselves so they could deliver feature films and high-profile TV series-all from their spare bedrooms.
Using a combination of onsite hardware and cloud-based tools-including Frame.io-they discovered that their productivity stayed the same, and that post-production workflows will be forever changed.

Yeah, 6 out of 7 of our editors are working from home too. Getting everyone setup was the hardest part, but things eventually settled into a flow. We've been just as efficient and even couriered tb drives back and forth for the big projects. I've done some client edits using a screenshare. It's not perfectly smooth, but once we figured out the direction they were able to watch me work and then just review the finished files on frame on their end. To go back to exactly the old ways would be a waste.

hey isaiah, out of interest what have you found to be the best screen sharing software for live edit review? framie.io is great for uploading for super accurate review, but, i'm struggling to find a super decent live review piece of software? i'm on Avid Media Composer.
