Hi, it only works for Redshift at this time. However, you can manually create a substance node in a material graph and hook up the textures.

Can you use all the substance assets with C4D subscription along or do you have to purchase the c4d with substance 3d license?

Not a C4D knowledgeable person, but I would guess so? If not automatically like here, then by hand connecting each of the Substance output slots to the corresponding shader renderer input: color, metallic, roughness, etc (or equivalent if Metallic or Glossiness workflows of PBR)

Octane will work with the legacy extension within its Shader graph. It will be difficult to integrate this new workflow with Octane, because Octane is not integrated within Cinema4D Node Editor…

We wanted first to make it work for Redshift. Ideally we would like to support the same workflow for all the renderers available in the C4D “Node Editor”.

Somehow I can't add the Substance Shader node in the node editor. All sbsars work in Redshift Shader Graph but can't get it to work in Node Editor..anybody?

When I drag .sbsar into C4d some turn black and some work. Any ideas why some import as black? (When you open the node editor all node preview thumbs are also black)
