There are many other areas to stay in Cartagena besides Old Town, Bocagrande and Getsemani. Manga, El Cabrero, Marbella, and Crespo are all safe options especially if you want value.

Cartagena is one of the best places to visit for solo travel. You will find and see many solo travelers there during your stay.
