Colombia is a wonderful country I am from the United States have been living here for the last six years. Currently Living in Medellin So I recommend that city to you another beautiful place is what they call the White city of Colombia (Popayan) The seven colors of the ocean in San Andreas Island (The currency is Colombian pesos and most the natives Can speak English on the island I highly Recommend the island. Another is Santa Marta there’s different spots where the ocean is more clean and there’s parts where the water has more of a coal in it so you’ll have to look and see if that’s an area you’d want to go the list can go on

THIS COMMENT! I'm an American who lives part time in Mexico and I hear it all the time..."Omg aren't you scared/Mexico is so dangerous/The cartel will kill-rape-kidnap you/You're a woman alone in Mexico omg" and I tell them to stop watching TV and go get their passport. I ask them how many countries they've been to and they usually shut up b/c most Americans don't have a passport which is sad. Anyway, there are very few places I consider dangerous. The ones that I wouldn't travel to are only because of my passport as American, not that I"m scared to actually go there. Russia for example -- I'd love to go but right now it's not a good place for an American to travel b/c of world politics. Anyway, didn't mean to write a book as a reply LOL.

exactly they need tax dollars and cheap workers so they want people coming to America. Crime in and around cities is so bad now. So I am guessing they are selling some kind of "dream" to get people to leave there nice countries to flee to USA . I am sure it is a big shock. cost of living is skyrocketing so bad here. The smart Americans have already left.

Alina, very nice. The first time I was in Cartagena about 20 years ago, stayed in the Hilton hotel which was outstanding. I was surprised by hospitality of the people, also felt quite safe over there. A lot changed since then, the city expanded over the north coast, the airport is at least 2x larger and they paved the road to it .. :)))) ... but the old town is the same, it feels like being in some different world and culture, it is hard to describe. There is also nice view from the top of the main fortress.

The old town is a special place, when you walk over there ,inside the castle you can realise a feeling of nostalgia and sadness because 200 years ago the Spanish had their slaves in chains.

I highly recommend travel and stay in the rosario islands, explore that zone, because is full of amazing nature and amazing views and you can relax, in Cartagena the best beaches are in Morros. Colombia have amazing places, all depend of what you want, in my opinion, a good next destination is San Andrés Island, you can take a cheap plane ticket from Cartagena. Additional in the Carribbean you can visit Santa Marta, (close to Cartagena) the you can found Tayrona National Park, with amazing views, and if you want something more wild you can go to Palomino at Guajira wtih one of the more beautiful beaches in America. Alina, just saw your latest video. Happy you are enjoying it. As I told you in my previous comments, you need to watch out for the vendors who are relentless. My wife and I live in Barranquilla. Ben here for 6 1/2 years. We had soured on Cartagena because it grew very fast and was not as enjoyable as 10-20 years ago. However we totally agree with you that if you go, stay in the old city. We don’t like Bocagrande or Laguito where the Hilton is located. We don’t like the beaches either. But you can enjoy a whole week just in the old city. As far as recommendations for other places to go, I seem to recall that you were going to go to Santa, Marta. However the mountains and other cities like Medellin, Bucaramanga and Cali are worth visiting. The mountain towns in the Santander province or in the coffee triangle are a must see. You should look at the you tube channel called Colombia Frank. He is a Swiss gentleman who came to Colombia and runs a tourist travel company. Nice! Never been there so it's great to watch your videos of it. Now I can add Columbia to my list of places (along with some of the others you have shown like The Ukraine!).

The producers of Encanto took their inspiration from two very distant locations and brought them together in the film. The town of Barichara and the Cocora Valley.

I really liked your advise according to the selling thing. I was about to type you that. So it's better not to receive anything and just keep going and saying "No, gracias". Good video and good content. Enjoy our country! 🇨🇴🥰

I recommend you to go to the coffee zone. You can go to the Parque Nacional del Café (Coffee National Park), el parque Los Nevados, and hang out in the towns around that are part of the Coffee Cultural landscape, like Salento, Pijao, Neira. A less known destination but an amazing one is Salamina, a heritage town in the north of Caldas department, it has some forest of Wax palm, which is the national tree of Colombia and very well preserved traditional architecture.
