You are braver than I am. I wouldn't be able to handle keeping an eye on all of them. I admire your energy. I like your ability to read each horse to see where its mind is. Soda may surprise you later. Once you find out what she likes (chasing cows, turning barrels) , you may see a spike in her energy level. I started a quarter horse gelding for a client. He was super lazy. To my surprise, his owner introduced him to jumping . He became a blue ribbon jumper!

@@thomasosburn833 As always, thanks for the comment! I’ve put a couple rides on Soda since this video and she has really come alive. I’m looking forward to getting her on cattle!

It looked like Soda's ears were pinned because Pirate was stuck to her.
@LazyKMOverBarHorsemanship14 күн бұрын
@@videos-pk3fx That is absolutely a factor, and her disposition improved as Pirate realized he didn’t have to be glued to her. However, Soda did have quite a bit of trouble moving out, and that was an issue when she was by herself in the round pen or being ridden alone. But once she got out of the round pen her disposition and willingness to move out improved exponentially.

Not useful training. You are simply showing 5 horses to be fearful of your flags, not accepting. Congratulations for nothing.

@@hmhaller Ah, such a helpful comment. All five of these horses have been sacked out with the flag prior to this session, and have been worked with one on one in the round pen. They know how to face up, and they know how the flag works. Putting them all together like this adds some layers of complexity as it’s harder to work each individual and I must instead focus on the group most of the time. The purpose of this exercise is to expose them further to wearing a saddle, show them they can move out comfortably, and let them bump into each other while still being supported by the presence of other horses. They must have respect for the flag, and move off of me when I ask them to. All in all, this was a great session for these five youngsters, and I had a really fun time.

That’s why it’s important to do things and steps and add as you go and obviously stop immediately of something happens but if all these horses were on a trail ride together and somehow bump each other and that freaks them out that’s more dangerous Everyone has their way of desensitizing and training as long as it’s safe and they have control then that’s what matters

You are HITTING the horse with the flag. I think you may need to re think your mindset. It can be hard to do. Please be open, be teachable. What I am learning from your video is what NOT to do.
@LazyKMOverBarHorsemanship14 күн бұрын
@@MarloweDashBonus points for suggesting I should be teachable, but not actually providing any information on the subject. Moving a horse out with a flag is perfectly acceptable.
