I’m curious… What is the benefit of spraying the compost tea on the leaves versus around the soil/roots? Would you do the same in a smaller backyard garden?

@@laurie570the plants are able to take up the nutrients immediately. Yes you can do this on a small backyard garden. Any kind of plant will benefit from foliage feeding even indoor house plants.

Don't forget, Will brought a wealth of knowledge about swales and contour planting and much more that you would never have known about without him. He's really worth his weight in gold for growing stuff. He has a very large parcel of land too, his videos are extremely interesting and different.

Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet there. Will is such a hard worker. I also enjoyed seeing the feeding of the worm farm and the other animal caregiving he did. We don't see that very often. I was very concerned he might run into snakes in the jungle!! He's a brave Man. 😂

Timing is everything, isn't it? lol Just yesterday KZbin recommended one of Wil's videos and I clicked to watch it, not knowing it's was "y'all's" Wil. Within a few seconds of the video starting I literally said out loud, "Hey, I know that greenhouse and that garden! That's Jess's garden!" Then I see Wil..."Wait, he looks familiar!". 😂 It was a wonderful video! I look forward to watching more of his content, for sure.

Hi Jess, As many people say, I very rarely comment, but I feel like I need to tell you thank you. I'm a military spouse and have been for the past 10 years. It can tricky. We're currently stationed somewhere with extreme seasons which can be a little tricky, but we're loving it. I was born and raised in Moore, SC so right down the road from where y'all are at now. Watching you brings me back to the summers/winters that I grew up experiencing. I cannot wait to visit your store and coffee shop once they are good to go! I planted my first garden this year and it has brought me so much joy, but watching you on a daily basis brings me just as much. Being a military spouse can be extremely lonely at times, especially if you're an introvert. I want to say thank you for providing me with calmness and a KZbin friend even though you're so many miles away. When I watch you and your beautiful family, I don't feel alone on those lonely days. You're such a lovely person and I love seeing you follow your dreams and what the Lord is leading you to do. You are a blessing to so many people and such a blessing to a military spouse who can feel lonely often. Thank you, Jess. You've helped me through tough days and will for so many years to come. -B

I have really grown to love Will's channel over the last few months - his style is so relaxing and still teaching a LOT of interesting things about gardening and homesteading. What a great idea to have a little cross-over like this, hopefully that means that even more people jump on the Will channel to watch his stuff. Wowza, your filming of the harvest is magical !! The sounds of the farm-life are lovely. Prolific and happy garden because of loving hands working the soil and loving the land . It was nice to see Will give the snail another chance at life after swiping it off of the Okra. e is certainly an expert in filming the life and daily chores of Home-steading... an artist in telling a story of real-life without words.

I love Will's ASMR style gardening perspective. The ambient sounds, The timelapses of rolling clouds, and the steady pace of a bountiful summer harvest. I love a good informational video, but there is something very magical simply seeing a person actively gardening and what that looks like as a solitary gardener - Mixing fertilizer and spraying, feeding wormies, picking ground cherries up off the literal ground. All those little moments captured and combined paint a picture of gardening without the usage of very many words. Words would of felt like clutter thrown into the mix - ruin the mood, lol.

Wow! The artistry of the photography and sound track really brings me into the reality of your farm and garden. Saw so many chores being done that I hadn't witnessed before and the abundance was so apparent here. Seeing Will spray the compost tea on all the plants and trees was new for me too. I knew you made and used it but had never seen it applied. No wonder you have such great production! That stinky barrel of swamp water was cute! If I was away from home (the farm) and saw this video it would make me want to get right back there. Jess, your style of vlog and Will's greatly compliment each other. Nice job both of you.

Jess .heres a "recipe" my mom & Anma (Japanese grandma) made in my childhood. Clean & cut melon lengthwise. Remove seeds. Slice melon into half moon shapes (1/8"-1/4" thick). Whisk up several eggs & set aside. Fry up some thinly sliced bacon until almost done to your liking. Add the melon into bacon & cook till tender. Add eggs and scramble them aling with the melon & bacon. Season with S & P and soy sauce or tamari. Add a little sugar to offset bitterness of melon. I dont recall if they added sliced onion and/or tomato but they would make a good addition (IMO). Something different to try especially since you have all the ingredients at the ready
