I work for aldi currently and have for the past 3 years. My store is absolutely trash. Managers lack basic human decency, expect way too much while also insulting you the entire time and offer no motivation or incentives. However- I’ve worked at many other locations all of which are great to work for. Managers are encouraging and helpful, talk to you like a human being, and engage in personal conversations. My store is awful, but it depends on where you go.

Just remember, that you have learn to deal with and a lot crap unfortunately, but some times the best thing to do in those situations is talk to you're store manager about the issues are facing with the team and him or her personally that's only way you are every going to have resolutions. If the problem does not get solved, take it to the DM (District Manager) and then go up further from there. While me being a Shift Manager I have to learn to deal with a lot of BS myself, but I take it and apply it and try my every best to learn from it and to take action and keep my associates working efficiently as possible.

I recently received a job offer from Aldi. I start next week and I'm excited about the fast-paced work environment and the exercise! Lol I come from the restaurant industry. So, I'm used to it! Also, they pay so much more than any other entry level position anywhere else in the area, and from what I've noticed, they seem to really care about the state of physical and mental health of their employees. All of the ones I saw working seemed to love being there!

I just had an interview today. Went well. I've been in customer service for an accumulative 10 years, and I hope to christ they don't call me saying I got the job. Customer service/sales is stressful enough without having to be timed on all of your duties throughout the day. Fuck that. I have a job I can always go back to, but it wouldn't be full-time, and the hours are 20 per week if I'm lucky. If you weren't timed and graded on everything you did at Aldi's, I feel applying wouldn't be nearly as intimidating mentally. If i do get the job, the only reason I hope I can make it work, is so my wife can go down to part-time, and I can take care of her for a change. I'd rather do the same thing every day on an assembly line than be in a soul-sucking customer service job again. Fuck me.

I was a deputy manager at Aldi for 4 years. Trust me when i tell you the job is not good or enjoyable. The money and your fellow staff members are the only reason you would want to stay working there. Your contract effectively says you cannot speak negatively about the company on social media. I am NOT saying that what this man is saying is false but do take it with a grain on salt. There is alot more issues that alot of people do not speak on. He does say alot of true points in this video such as the fast paced environments, and the goals you have to reach and how its not for everyone etc. Also im from the UK so things may be different. If you are from the UK avoid this company. This is a decent video and i appreciate his enthusiasm about his job. I wish you the best in your career my friend!😁

@@snakedocter1984 it is a very physical job. They want people that can physically do the work of 5 people almost simultaneously. Their way of keeping prices down is to keep staffing cost low. That means the staff have to work ALOT harder and faster than the staff in a regular supermarket. Statistically older people can't work to that pace, thats why they employ alot of younger people. Aswell as this they like to promote from within, if they can groom an 18 year old employee to their perfect staff member, 3 years down the line they will be the best match for promotion. If they hier a person that has more working experience and is slightly older that person is more in there own ways and its a lot harder for them to shape that person into the employee they really want. Hope that makes sense haha.

My time at ALDI was filled with physical injury from thousands of repetitions, heavy nepotism, and almost no work-life balance. This guy seems nice but gullible, and anxious. That is the only personality type that makes it in the lower level. The job is unreasonably demanding. Be prepared to sell your soul.

As a current employee im going to share my experience so far. Pros - you receive a good pay and earn well above the minimum wage, if you are someone looking to earn every penny you can get then they pay you reasonably well. Cons. One of the most depressing, stressful and frustrating places youll ever work. Spoken to like trash and always left stressed and frustrated. Hours are long and if your in your 20s and 30s your social time is next to non-existing. You are made to work long hours most weekends and you receive no appreciation. For every one compliment you receive you'll receive 20/30 criticisms . Expectations are way too high and most employees are or look depressed.

I had two interviews with the store manager and district. Only the store manager did any talking. I left after my first interview and received a phone call to come back for 2nd interview 30 minutes after I left my first. The second interview was definitely tougher but I managed to pull through.

I find that most retail, fast food, etc. is like that. But unlike those other places, aldi pays usually pays 2-5 dollars more. I'm getting paid better as a store associate at aldi, than I did as a shift manager at walgreens. It also helps that I moved from a city with very high foot traffic to a suburb with much less. I'm used to the pace and actually feel compensated for it.

From a UK perspective Aldi is the best retailer to work for, pace is still a major factor when stocking but not so much speed on the tills these days we're encouraged to adjust pace to suit customers. A full pallet of mixed goods your expected to take 30 min to put out, a mixed cage 15, a full pallet of bread 20mins. There isn't one person one job you're trained on it all I.e if your tills getting quiet jump off and stock shelves, tidy up, do baskets etc until you hear your till called on again. Its dammed hard wonk but the wages are high, theres plenty holidays to take double time on bank holidays and a great team ethic.

I have been working for Kroger stocking overnights and for what little kroger pays for the brutal overnight shift compared to Aldi I don't care if it's physically demanding. Aldi the highest paying hourly rate for new hires within our 3 town radius here in Georgia. I have literally checked everywhere. Can you find an easier job for less money sure but Aldi is like 4 dollars higher than the other average new hire rates around here. Money talks.

I'm fat due to sleep apnea but its got nothing on me, I get 20000 + steps a day 60 flights of steps a day and 50 miles a week. as a valet, not making enough though looked at Aldi's pay rate and it seems better too sometimes I park 67+ cars daily

hey whats up i like this video today was my last day working for aldi 1 year with them i feel ya the first couple months it was ruff i caught on quick with the layout of the store i worked in after a month using there socall forklift was a struggle at first but ill be flying with that as well lol when i run the produce while the store open you got some customers that walked so slow be like right behind ya mam or sir in your mind your move your slow ass out the way lol i was offered to become a shift manager i declined it cuz i was already getting allot of bs for not finishing on time they tell ya but this job is very physical you got be quick when your new they will give you advice to get quicker but once you know the layout they will push you hopefully this doesn’t discourage people to work for aldi its a good company if you can handle the bs and your quick with things you can go far in the company my ring speed is 97 with 44 items scanned per min

I work at a horrible store! The managers are actually just hourly paid with the exception of the salary Store Manager. She is not a very nice person. The funny thing is I understand her perspective, but will never understand why she treats her employees like crap. I feel she takes out her frustration and anger on her employees because she doesn't have another outlet for her frustration at the company. That said, I DONT FUCKING CARE! DO NOT bite the hand that feeds you! She has 4 awesome assistants and constantly puts them down in public. She has no skills at training. She expects them to run their shifts, but constantly overrides them, then gets mad when they don't run their shifts. What the hell? Done and Done!

To answe you're questions are as follows: 1. Mostly during a group interview they will walk you around the store and to get the feel of how we do things at ALDI and than you will get a piece of paper to do a survey and than might be called into a other interview with the District Manager (DM) than possibly store manager all in the same day. 2. Just dress casual wear. Like you we're saying. 3. During group interviews, there is about 3 to 5 people maybe more, depending on the District Manager. When you go for you're group interview, don't standout like others, let the DM talk and you do a little. That will show them you're interested.

Waited 2 days to say I am being offered the job, you then have to confirm the job offer by the email they send you, where you will also pick you clothing size for you uniform and i was asked to put next of kin and 2 references. You then get a contract signing date. At the contract signing I took proof of I.D passport or driving license and National insurance card. You get a copy of contract. I started the first monday of the following month. Your first day is health and safety and answering questions on a computer, I was doing it with 2 others.

Here are some tips that might help you! 1. Don't expect to be fast and remember codes on your first day, working on getting faster every time you work and remember codes takes time as well. 2. Take your time when it comes to cash-handling. 3. Slow down when you need, you need too. 4. Encourage pre-inserting for card transactions, it will make your ring speed very high and efficiently. 5. You should have a computer training on how to run the register but a manager should help you as well known as "Going Shopping" Those are some helpful tips, hope it helps and Welcome to ALDI!

@@gafalcon7 okay wow so what is the deal with memorizing codes ? 😭what do you mean . Codes for what ! Cant i write them on a paper . Why do they expect people to remember codes when they want you to work in extremely fast pace.that is really torture 😭. Can you give me an example? How long is the code? And codes for what since i expected everythi g to have a price basically ..oh lord. I am really scared.

@@novemberrain2184 Like I said before, everything takes time including learning the register and remembering codes as well. That's why I believe it should take at least 6 months or so (maybe longer for you) to really learn everything and that's why you have managers and other associates to help you. If your store manager and or District Manager expect you to be fast on your first month, then that's crazy talk in my book. Just take your time and teach yourself and by other coworkers to learn how to get faster. You will always have printed sheet on how of the codes as well.

Hey Charu! Congrats! The next interview will probably be with the District Manager, and or Store Manager. Just answer the questions honestly and listen to every word, and also ask questions as well, the more questions ask, the more shows them your interested into the position. Best of luck!

Starting pay is 11.65 and than goes up (don't remember how much though) after you're 6th month and than after that its annually. You get paid every two weeks. If you are good with budgeting you're money you shouldn't have problems on living.

I just graduated high school I'm 19 and I just put in an application for store associate while I was applying it asked what hours to work and what days to work I put 7 days a week from 6 AM to 11 pm is that possible and also I was reading that it takes 2 weeks for an application to go through it's already been that long since I applied would you reccomend I go and ask about my application? because I would really like to work at my local aldis. Also I'm not really bothered working in a fast paced environment I used to work at fedex grounds in a hot warehouse loading 30 foot trailers back to back.

tim screen just be prepared to work long hours and yes always ask about your application however with Aldi the store managers you see have nothing to do with your application process because it’s all done online and the higher ups picks who they hire

I had my interview,I have 7years experience in this kind of work...I have fork lift,walk behind fork lift,electric power jack experience,I also have knowledge and training in how to use hand held computers to pick items I know how to build a pallet...I know how to wrap,load trucks unload trucks use floor scrubbers,I have training in how to lift things correctly,how to lock out and tag out faulty equipment..etc...I did not get a second interview yet....My friends daughter who has not worked anywhere for more then 5 minutes has one gas station job and one burger joint job under her belt and has NO experience on anything in this building got her second interview the next day....What the heck are they looking for..It was at the Aldi Warehouse

@@0sarah0911 They throw you in the deep end and make you figure it out infront of customers it's pretty awful at first and btw PLU codes you have to know but it takes a long time if you're not used to remembering random numbers like myself.
