The fact that most of the time this research, scripting and (very entertaining ) content creation is used for things like Reflections, esports history etc. When he could just be doing videos like this (which i would guess would be more profitable), shows that he only really cares about esports. You're 1000% accurate in your depiction of the players in the US in that time period in CS, and more specifically CSS. I would know, since I played competitively back then and experienced the environments of scrims, pugs, 10 mans and the like firsthand. I only ever played in CEVO main, but we were good enough that we could get games against pros or pro pugs in the wee hours of the morning. Some of my favorite memories are getting ripped by devour on Russka while I was awp'ing ramp from A site boxes. He smoked it, jumped across, and headshot me with a scout right when he landed, while all I could see was his elbow. The language used in the scene back then was absolutely what anyone today would consider homophobic, but as far as I know, it was never being used in the context of actually deriding a gay person. People in pugs would say shit all time that they would get fucking blasted for today if heard in a public setting. m0e was definitely not smart using that kind of language on stream, and that's why I simply don't use it in my personal life either. It's too easy to say the wrong words in the wrong setting if you're using them freely amongst your friends and family and the like, so why use it at all? But you're absolutely correct about the etymology of the word as well, and the way m0e used it was obviously the way people used it back in the earlier days of Counter-Strike. Your take was incredibly sensible and well thought out, but I guess slandering you was more convenient for some reason. Not her brightest moment, but then it seems like perhaps she doesn't have a whole lot of those by the looks of it.
