I had a Vizsla for 15 years. She was easy to train and the best family dog. They truly are the Velcro Dog.
@user-qx6ly1fm9s4 жыл бұрын
2centavos As long as you give them enough exercise each day, they’re fine in an apartment. They chill out inside once they get their wiggles out.

I heard they are very stubborn.

Hey when you say family dog do you mean needs constant attention? Lol
@shellim1nerva4 жыл бұрын
@@Collin2377 they are very smart and headstrong; they need daily challenges both physical and mental until they are 5-6 years old, then they are more chill but still young at heart.

My Vizsla does the same thing!! They say, "Pay attention to me at all costs, no matter what, gimme love 24/7 and it's still not enough". :)
@judymiller51543 жыл бұрын
I found they needed hard exercise followed by a "job", like a long down-stay, repeat as needed.
@JimmyG4153 жыл бұрын
24/7 is simply not enough. We have a 12 week old in the house. I tried to play hide & seek w/him, but he seemed more hurt than intrigued by the game.

It is actually so gentle! Lot of dogs would be a lot more annoying. I never met viszla for longer time, but I read that they are one of the easiest dogs to own, loving, calm and gentle.
@RealFarknMcCoy4 жыл бұрын
Not sure where you've read that, but vizslas tend to be very highly strung, not calm. They can also be quite high energy.
@Ch35h1r3C474 жыл бұрын
"Calm" HAHAHAHAHA Vizslas are insane. They require a LOT of exercise and while they aren't hard to train, they do NEED to be trained. They enjoy the mental stimulation. That said, you treat them right and yes, they're absolutely stellar dogs, very loving, full of personality. Older ones do calm down a bit.
@bjl10003 жыл бұрын
They are calm, after they play their hearts out. Put a Vizsla with a Weimaraner and you have a Smoothy Blender, what a show. I love them.,

One of the little quirks about the breed I came to recognize is that they always seem to KNOW when someone is Hungarian. Dogs that were reluctant to greet strangers or otherwise exuberant in their greeting of anyone else would randomly approach a person and just lean against them. Every time I had it happen that person would speak softly to the dog in Hungarian before smiling at me and initiating conversation about the breed. It was almost eerie the number of times I had it happen.

My dobe does the exact same, but much more often. Like paw or nudge every few seconds. When we sit on bar/high chairs he'll place his face on your thigh. What's worse recently his cat side is coming through, he knocks laptops, tablets, phones and anything on to the floor.
