I start my training in about an hour so I am super happy! What people don't understand about Vector is that YOU have to put the effort in if you want to be successful. As with any sales position, you have to work hard and not only professionally but you also need to work on yourself as well. I have nothing but high hopes for myself and the company.

Around 8 months with Cutco and love it! Stumbled across this video and didn't expect to see Rachel! She's been on fire since she started! Everything she said in this video is FACTS! I'm in her and Brett's division. Such a great workplace culture!

I sold Cutco 2012-2014 working over winter breaks and 3 summers. I ran a Branch in 2014. I went through a ton of adversity but it helps build you up. Hitting FSM was a huge milestone and I am still proud of myself for achieving t to this day. The downside is that you’re not an employee which means that you don’t get health insurance, gas, fruit for demos. The vague ads can sketch people out. That’s why people call it a scam. I think if they were more selective with sales reps and gave sales reps a base + commission, they would have a better reputation.

I have an interview tomorrow for entry level customer service and sales. I am busy with nursing school, do you think that it is flexible enough and something that would benefit me? It comes with a great base pay, but it there also commission?

What doesn't add up about it? Sales Representatives can do as many appointments as they'd like, so some reps even sell as much as $10k within their first two weeks!

@@thevectorinsider1663 and what’s your commission %?
@thevectorinsider16633 жыл бұрын
Commission levels start at 10% and goes up to 30%. Reps are also guaranteed a base rate of pay so they are making a paycheck even if they don't make any sales.

I completed my preliminary interview for Vector yesterday and I am scheduled for a 2 day training program before the end of the week. From recent research I have read many mixed reviews of this company. Cutco has a rock solid reputation as a company and product but Vector itself seems to have a history of shady business practices from predatory spamming-style recruitment of young applicants desperate for money and opportunity to misdirection of their business and employment model. My main concern is from a recent account of an employee that claimed that they do not set you, the sales rep, up with meetings and clients but it’s up to the the rep to populate their client list possibly with all family and friends from the reps own personal network. Can you confirm if this is true or not??
@thevectorinsider16634 жыл бұрын
First of all, congratulations on being accepted for a position! I can definitely understand how reading mixed reviews can be alarming. People say all sorts of things online. Unfortunately, there are copious amounts of opinions vs facts. Are you familiar with the BBB and their role of verifying the legitimacy of businesses? Check this out: www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business-reviews/cutlery/vector-marketing-corporation-in-olean-ny-1105 Basically, the BBB assigns businesses ratings based on sound advertising, selling and customer service practices that enhance customer trust and confidence in business. Vector Marketing has been a member since 1990 and has an A+ rating. And regarding your question, most brand new representatives have never done a position like this before, so to create a more relaxed learning atmosphere, they traditionally start with people that they know to build confidence. Personally, I loved the opportunity to practice with people I knew for a while before moving on to referrals. And yes, the Sales Representatives schedule their own appointments as that allows them flexibility within their schedules. Hope that helps! :)

Don’t do it, it’s a scam. They take advantage of high school age kids like me at the time, I didn’t even get paid even tho o did 12 appointments and made sales.

Does CUTCO give us random customers to demonstrate to or do we HAVE to just demonstrate to family and friends?
@thevectorinsider16634 жыл бұрын
Cutco Sales Reps start with people they know and those people give them referrals. Then their network builds from there! :) Personally, I only did appointments with people I knew for a few weeks and then worked with referrals for the rest of my time as a Sales Rep.
@cianni55114 жыл бұрын
@@thevectorinsider1663 Thank you for replying! But by building up clientele like that, doesn’t that mean you are not guaranteed as many appointments you would like to book? For example, say if I am one that doesn’t have a lot of friends/family or if they are busy and don’t want an appointment. I’m left with nothing? No family/friends/referrals available = no money. Am I correct? I just want to understand this before I go to training tomorrow morning.
@thevectorinsider16634 жыл бұрын
Of course! And yes, I totally get what you mean! There's a part of training where you go through a brainstorming exercise that helps with this specifically, but the short answer to your question is yes. Once you get to the point where you have a large client base, you will have more flexibility, but the managers on your team will be able to provide you with support if you're struggling in the beginning. I hope that helps and wish you the best of luck with training! If you ever have any more questions you can DM me on insta and I'll be able to respond quicker that way! @mimi.bascom
