My daughter rents her townhouse in reno thru Hud. She had to spend a lot for it to qualify and redo all the paperwork every year or two, I think the work involved is,why hardly anyone wants to do it and there are so few places available. I lived in it before my stroke (I can't do stairs) and it seemed fine to me. But housing in Reno is tough, my sister just was able to put her name on a waiting list - they only open it up a couple days every few years.

In the U.K., some cities use old containers units to make homes from in communities. They work very well. I’m so pleased people like Nate show belief in people so they can get a hand up. I hope you recover after your stroke and stairs get easy again. Never give up! You can do it. Take care. ❤️

In a perfect world we could just house all these people and they would all live happily ever after. Unfortunately, people need addiction counseling, mental health support, a job or way of income, possibly a car, license, ID etc. Knate is just one person and shouldn’t have to be responsible for their wellbeing and actions. He does all that he can ❤to

Same here, I was just swatted and doxxed from my public storage and was asked to leave because of it. I've been homeless for 3 years, 2024. When you are homeless like us, you will lose 6 your mental health will be tested, I'm trying yo be a youtuber, but people come on my channel to dislike me about me informing the world about my experience of.homelessness.

@@fdm2155 Answered your own question with using word Network. That’s key. People know where there are vacant homes. Crowd source the funds. We wait for the government. Work around them. They don’t understand that people can’t easily come up with deposit, first and last month….some landlords charge non-refundable application fee. County could issue a voucher, or make a no-interest loan that the family pays back small increments. Knate has shown us….just do it. Start where you are. Be non-judgmental. Do it. Ask questions later.

There aren't that many in reno, and the nicer 1bedrooms are 1200+, and that was a couple years ago. A studio would be better. Some of the old casinos downtown.converted to apartments, but they seemed a bit pricy too for the area - about 1000 but includes utilities (2 years ago!)
