Thanks for the video! Needed some inspiration to get an A300 working properly here. It's also rebooting randomly. I really wouldn't have thought of downgrading the memory but here I am now doing exactly that :-) Will see how it goes!

@Lenny CDRM thanks! I did a bit of searching around and seems highly likely that's what it is. Thinking it's worth a shot sometime. I had an L300 that was in good working order so I changed over to that one. The owner just wanted it for some kids to play basic games. So he's happy. I do like these old Toshiba laptops. It's good to keep them in operation.

Great Video! I do have a similar situation in my hands too, these days. A Friend's machine like this one, as soon as I try to install windows from a USB stick, it automatically restarts and it is driving me crazy! 😁 This happens with or without the battery, and I have noticed that at Memtest86+ even though the motherboard area gets pretty hot, the CPU fan does not rev up, it stays at the same RPM. Thus, no significant hot airflow comes out of the CPU cooler vents. I really have no time to take it apart and reassemble it, so I am thinking of using a computer cleaning blower directly into the CPU fan hole and then doing it from the opposite direction, hopefully to clean up any dust that has resided there. And then, run MemTest86+ again and let it run. I am also thinking of taking out the RAM sticks and testing them separately, to see if there is any memory fault there. I Hope that I will be able to solve this, because my Friend really needs a laptop for his children, to attend to online classes at school and at this point he has no money to spare, to get a newer refurbished one 😔

Hi I have a problem with my Toshiba satellite a300. I can't install the operating system. I tried, install various Windows 10 7 8 vista and even ubuntu. The computer turns on everything works but the installation does not turn on. Laptop freezes a black screen appears and nothing. With ubuntu the installation turned on but did not want to load. I tested whether the disk is working on another computer and there the installation normally turns on. I hope you will help me.

Hi. You can install Windows in another pc and then move the hdd in yours. It will automatically adjust.

Then you have a hardware conflict somewhere. Try to remove all non essential compunents and peripherics.
