He cant exactly say we have been working on 3 at back with Konsa and saka as left wing back and trent as right wing back, and working on counter attacking the swiss,etc,etc. I dont think thats a good idea right?

How about this: Play players that are not burnt out after a long season. Play players in their correct positions. Have a game plan and personnel ready for a major tournament. Don't take players who are injured and haven't played for 5 months.

3-4-2-1 Pickford Walker-Stones-Konsa Trent-Rice-Mainoo-Saka Bellingham-Foden Kane The two wing-backs are Trent and Saka or Palmer and Gordon Bellingham and Foden as two attacking mids just behind Kane. Rice and Mainoo protecting the back-3 if needed or one of them can join the attack as well. Kane can be replaced by Watkins or Toney if tired.

exactly what I been thinking, seems a good line up and i think its looking likely. Its not a huge change to personel, just a shifting of positions which is great. The subs can be palmer, gordon as you said. Saka on left is more natural too and Trent to whip balls in, looks great.
