I hope to get to see this railroad sometime in the not too distant future. My two oldest granddaughters live in Hensonville NY, which is not that far away.

nice video, as all of yours are. I'd like to get back to NY next year to once again ride this line and also hopefully check out Schuyler St and the brewery. Thanks for sharing these videos.

Bill and Norton! It's been 9 years since I've been a trainman. Now I'm a freight conductor running freight trains on the Arkansas & Missouri RR.

I love that video of the schanbel car and the transformer and the rock cut! Why are they ballasting and tamping? Trying to improve speed on the line?

A major track rehabilitation project is underway along Adirondack RR’s entire 85-mile corridor (Remsen-Tupper Lake). The project, begun late last year, resumed a few months ago and should be completed by year’s end. The purpose is to re-open the 44-mile stretch of tracks between Big Moose-Tupper Lake to regular excursion service for the first time since 1980 and to otherwise improve the physical condition of the trackbed. Speeds up to 50 mph will now be permitted.

I had the privilege of watching 1845 in CP colours for many years whilst working the Smiths Falls area, then in Ottawa Central black working the Ottawa area. She looks sharp in her latest livery, and sounds glorious pounding in the revenue miles. Long live 1845!
