Awesome video! 1) it really feels great as an umpire when you know your in the right spot on a critical close play. 2) in youth baseball when you're alone or on a two man team and kids do the dumbest most unpredictable things, you're not always going to be able to be perfect; but practice getting better always. Coaches appreciate umpires that clearly are making an effort!

I love this detail. It was really hard to learn to work the wedge, but once I got in the hang of it, my calls got a lot better!!

I was wondering about that Jeff, the description says "Property of MLB Advanced Media" yet it clearly belongs to LL West Region. I'm not sure how this can qualify as "fair use", it seems more like "theft". jpg901c needs to explain himself.

love that last clip btw, great to see a much-maligned "volunteer" LL umpire working the wedge so well. but we know West region has the best umpires. I'm pretty sure I was at that game; I know I was there for the No. Cal - Hawaii game that night, but I think I made the full day of it. so sad no tournament this year

@@davej3781he went a little too far towards 1st base should have been 4 ft to the left and a step or 2 closer

@@youbluethatone1017 agreed, he did swing around a little too far, and I am a big proponent of getting one's nose right up in the play. still, he stayed mobile, and glued right on F2's play-side hip as the play developed. it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good.
