You guys are so cute! I work at Starbucks and my co-worker is deaf and when she first started I could tell a lot of people were nervous/scared to even ask her a simple question lol because they didn't want to say/sign anything wrong. She encouraged my co-workers( I know ASL) to not be afraid and even taught them some signs! ... BTW I'm soo excited your going to be working on the channel more!

OMG I am thrilled that there will be more Sign Duo! I love you guys! I am an ASL major and although I want to become a Physician, my next passion is Deaf culture and sign language. Don't judge (lol) but I wish sometimes I could date someone who is Deaf because I just love the culture and people so much. They are so warm, welcoming and non-judgemental. I hope to find more people in the deaf community to get to know and communicate with. Thank you guys for ALL that you do, it is truly appreciated!

You guys are absolutely right.....you both are wonderful people that are just like me and other people....just communicate differently.....I think it looks beautiful when sone one signs.....and this can be used in other situations where speaking is out of the question! Awesome that Ryan showed them he can do this and any job!

There is an old Filipino guy who is the samw kitchen as me and he can't speak because he's had a car accident, he can however hear and I notice other people are saying why is he even here but I think, it shouldn't matter your age, your here to learn and still have so much despite your age. He is slow at working but I can tell he's doing his hardest despite at times feeling frustrated that people take him for granted which when I read that was like wow, there's more to him! 😂

I totally agree that you don’t need hearing to be a good chef. I actually lost my hearing just for 3 days and kept working, orders come in written down, there’s a lot of flow and routine. Fact that I couldn’t hear actually didn’t seem to matter 🤷♀️

Wow this is so amazing!! You being a server and Ryan as a prep cook, lol you do know the struggle of working in the hospitality service. 😅😂😩 I'm a culinarian and in my school we're put into teams every quarter and doing service for two weeks, I can't handle too much stress because after I'll cry. It was hard for me to handle 3 tables with 12 people total, I cried because I was stressed and had gotten food mixed up.

HI guys! Don't worry you both doing fine. Just one person need to work on signing is Ellie I think that's your name because I am hard of hearing and my wife Chinese hearing and both of us don't signs to each other but we speaks other languages in either English and Chinese. I however I do use sign language when I meet other deaf and hard of hearing. It'll be a little hard but you both will get use to it. Good luck both of you. I enjoy all your videos and I will keep watching your videos.

I would love to see you guys maybe do a series of videos where you teach us some asl. My boyfriend is deaf with hearing aids, his son is deaf with cochlear implants, and his 2 daughters are different levels of HOH with hearing aids, my son and I are both hearing. ive been teaching my son asl from birth (hes only 2) as i learn new signs so he can communicate better with his brother and sisters, but since my bf uses ha and speaks he doesnt sign much and has forgotten much it, his son speaks very well and signs but when hes home he doesnt sign all that often he signs more at school hes only 8. At home they rely more on lip reading which im trying to get past, As sometimes its not always easy. i try to get his son to teach me asl by signing more at home so i can be signing to him more and communicating with him better because im the type of person to watch and learn but not having much help from him with it. cant blame him tho he is only a kid. But i would love to become fluent in asl as i know and feel it would make communication in our house much easier. im a new subscriber and have watched a couple past videos and have already picked up a few new signs just from watching you two talk and sign to each other but would definitely love to see videos geared towards teaching asl specifically. I love learning new languages right now im only fluent in english and spanish but would really like to add asl to my list. Cant wait to watch more of your videos and learn from you two all that i can.

I'm starting to write a short film with deaf characters and your videos are very helpful for understanding communication between deaf or hard of hearing people and hearing people who've never interacted with a deaf person before. Do you have any other anecdotes about people doing/saying the wrong thing to/around you? Funny ones?
@BaileyCarpenter78 жыл бұрын
Hi love watching you guys! It helps me practice my sign. I was wondering if you could talk about your career paths and how it is sometimes stereotyped that deaf people will not succeed in life. Also if Ryan ever thought about going to the Riverside school for the deaf. I have a brother who goes to the Fremont school for the deaf.

Kayla Horton I'm also planning on learning auslan, so far I have the alphabet down, now I have to learn other things. Asl and auslan are different from what I heard, I know they use one handed while doing the alphabet but with auslan it's two hands.

Sorry, the captions are in front of a white/grey background, is there any way to change the colour to make it more easy to read?
@clamorous96588 жыл бұрын
I just figured this out myself after my captions popped up in bright green. Go into the settings next to the CC button and click subtitles/CC. In the upper right hand corner of the grey box click options and there are TONS of ways to customize the captions. You can change the font and background color and opacity in there.
