Last time here I had a tough time fishing this canal with lures so I decided to go back and use some live bait. First, I microfished for some baby mayan cichlids. Next, I put them out on a larger hook for some peacock bass

@@TheFishingNomad where exactly was this and where is this canal. Please
If you have the worm on near the very top of the hook , the fish should be able to eat it

How are you hooking them for bait?
@TheFishingNomad6 ай бұрын
Through the back roughly halfway between the head and the tail near the dorsal fin.

This pretty much the only way i fish now. I caught some sand perch today and caught a couple of peacocks.

Cool video. I need to get down to south Florida to go after some peacocks. Really wish they would start a program here in tampa. Will be watching for more videos. Gave you a follow.

Thanks. If you come down let me know and we can get together one day. I don't think peacocks would survive the winters in Tampa. They don't even survive in the northern parts of Palm Beach County.

I thought those humps means it’s a male pea
@TheFishingNomad5 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Only males develop them, but they don't always have them. They generally develop them around spawning time.

Where is the best place to fish in fort Lauderdale or Weston bc I live in Weston
@TheFishingNomad5 жыл бұрын
If you watch my other videos you'll find that I have a bunch from Weston. My favorite place to fish is probably Peach Mound Park. They've got a dock which is good, but really you can fish the whole shoreline and do well.

No wonder you lost the gar you're using mono! Monofilament is trash and has that shitty memory to it. Use braid and you'll never lose a fish again
@TheFishingNomad4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice but no. Braid is better than mono in certain situations, but it's worse in the application you're trying to apply it to. It's thinner and as a result much easier for a fish's teeth to cut through it.
