I has a small job position in the 80s and a Machiavellian used to pick on me constantly, overwork me and belittle me. I finally complained about him and her. They had to move me to another department, my little job was just filing papers and answering the phone. After they moved me to another department, I could believe that they made their way to actually work in that department after a month. I was a single mother at the time with a 2-year-old child. I eventually quit, and I found another job working at a movie theater. I didn't like the position they gave me at the theater, but, it was a job and I didn't have to deal this those monsters ever again. Eventually, I went back to school and received my degree. I hope and pray I never work with people like that again.

Who are mostly turning out to be trash along with the overwhelming amount of incompetent children they have barely raised that are destroying America worse than mommy! Yet you both are most likely getting PAID by the government! You sound important and educated, filing papers and that movie theater gig...... I'm sure when you say degree you mean a high school GED. I have had all these three types: 1. The Narcissist. This guy is always boasting and is the least problematic of the three. He will take credit for what you do. 2. The Machiavellian. This guy is by far the worst. You will not spot him, and think of you as a friend. Suddenly you are in big trouble and may lose your job, He has spoken to the powers, and removed you. He is the assassin. 3. The Psychopath. This guy is obvious. He may or will become violent at some time. He is very aggressive and argumentative. He is the enforcer.

ASPD/NPD, here. As a person who has these traits, stereotypes are a good predictor for spotting one in the workplace. Your typical "brown noser", sucking up to upper management while being in a lower to mid-range management position. The ones to single out and humiliate subordinates in front of peers. We also take credit or outright steal/plagiarize others work. We're cutthroat, two-faced, conniving and will backstab even friends and family. We have no loyalty but to ourselves. Everyone else is merely a temporary appliance for use and exploitation to achieve an outcome or goal. Coming from first-hand experience, the two biggest indicators identifying one of us is 1. Someone overly charming and charismatic. Really laying it on thick. And 2. Our stare. It's predatory and menacing. Almost soul piercing like we're hunting prey. Semi-squinted eyes with a sinister smirk. You'll know what I'm talking about if you've ever seen it. Look up the poster image of Norman Bates from the movie "Psycho". If you get an inkling you think you may know one of us, protect yourself and go no contact or low contact. We won't give a second thought about ruining your life if not taking advantage, etc. Stay safe.

At my college internship I was interviewed by an ex-colleague of my dad's. He told me "Your greatest challenge in life will be surpassing your father" while avoiding eye contact with a grave look on his face. Now I know it wasn't a compliment. I think part of the reason why my dad is so threatened by the idea of me attaining success (besides the usual narc-y BS) is because it's something he could never achieve as an immigrant. He had to run back home to get his old lifestyle (and the social recognition that comes with it) back. He was desperate for it. He would lament the fact that truck drivers and CEOs are allowed to visit the same coffee shop here lol. He's worked for multinational corporations his whole life and tried to interview at their Canadian branch. But no one wanted to hire an old FOB.

This is all too simplistic. People are more unique, subtle, and different from each other than this video describes. It's dangerous to our culture to type cast people and single out groups for shunning or punishing. Autistic people sometimes seem to have similar characteristics to your so-called "dark triad," for example. Also, you are using well established labels that are under the purview of psychiatric professionals and therapists. We can't despise or single these people out just because we don't like their non-violent behavior. Teach them, if it's so important to you; don't brand them and cast them out.
