Love the channel. I grew up helping my grandparents on their dairy farm. Very similar setup to what you guys have now. Have to say that when I first started watching your channel I thought you guys were brothers.

Nice video. I love working with cattle. Your dairy cows handle so much easier than beef cattle cuz you are around them and in conract with them every day. I'm not sure I would like the milking part to much, but I sure would enjoy taking care of a dairy cow and calf herd like yours. Curious, why did you pen that one holstien calf by itself by the stack of square bales at around 10:58/11:00 of the video.

Why is there ceramic where the cattle feed?
@greghamann20996 сағат бұрын
With all the hay that you grow and puzzles me why you need to buy straw. Got all the straw we needed when we planted the cover crop for the hay.
@sperfdairy21605 сағат бұрын
Straw is bedding hay is feed
@greghamann20995 сағат бұрын
@@sperfdairy2160 Okay yes, I'm not dumb what I was trying to get at was that when you plant a hay crop you put in a cover crop and that's usually some kind of grain that you get straw from like oats barley or a wheat and that is how we got all the straw we needed.
@sperfdairy21605 сағат бұрын
